  • This is Jim. We have 3 children, Jim’s in the middle. Jim is gentle, kind and loving and has a habit of taking everything way too seriously. Jim has aspergers, loves lego and movies of cats doing stupid things on YouTube.

  • This was my first ever bit of Digital Manipulation. I did it in my 1st year of Design at Curtin Uni in WA on an Amiga. thats 20 years….getting older! It was a total bit of accidental art but I have always loved it!! / Close Up

She sat patiently and let the nanofibres of her magnificent Syner body shift to nude. A tattoo of a wild rose nano-formed a winding path …

“When did I realize I was god? Well, I was praying and suddenly I realized I was talking to myself.” / —Peter O’Toole Here is a startling vision of the future where most humans are hosts to self-psychologist programs and someone obvious will want to rule the world from his Gothic moon base.

Hello every botty (oh God now I’m stealing my children’s lines!). Sorry. Hello everybody! Please mark in your diary’s that next week on…

Hello every botty (oh God now I’m stealing my children’s lines!). Sorry. Hello everybody! Please mark in your diary’s that next week on April the 2nd is Autism Awareness Day. As some of you may know my 7 year old son has Asperger Syndrome (a mild form of autism). Today I was made the Creative Director of our local Autism/Asperger Group. I feel very proud, protective and honoured to be part of this very special community. There are many children with all different forms of Autism, and many more will be diagnosed. So perhaps next Wednesday, whether you know someone with Autism, or someone with an autistic child, perhaps you could send a thought, prayer or simply have a cup of tea, or raise your glass to these very special individuals we have been blessed with. p.s My oil painting “Autism 7.14.21” is now available for sale as a card. (Any awareness to help my beautiful boy and others like him). / / Much Happiness / MrsO

  • This is a re-do of a previous photo that was just a little too cool-toned for my liking. I like this a lot better. Thank you Lightroom 2 :-)

  • This is a redo of a previous shot with my other son – I redid it primarily because my normally camera shy son wanted to and I am sharing it because I don’t think there can be too many images drawing attention to this puzzling condition. As a side note, my son does not have Austism; however, his cousin does and it is an issue near to our heart. All profits made from any sales of this card will be donated towards Autism Research. • People who have Aspergers are not Geeks. But I happen to be just one of those people who are permanently scruffy; when I used to wear specs they were always askew, or became tangled up in my hair when I propped them on top of my head. I lost them eleven years ago and never got round to replacing them (although my eyes are now pretty good, funnily enough!). My friends and family say this gives me an endearing geekishness. I don’t really know what that means, but as they love me, I can only assume it is a nice thing! PS All words here are just representative of me, and do not reflect the views or attributes of other geeks with Aspergers

  • I am a little different, I always have been. Some say it is due to my personality, others because of the way I am ‘wired’. A few say it is because I am just very very special! Many groups are starting to look beyond the neurological implications of, and reasons for autistic spectrum disorders, to a more esoteric level; foremost amongst these are who see such conditions as being a particular eloquence of spirit – a gift of intelligence and intuition that goes beyond the day to day activities and perceptions of life. They say that those who carry these gifts are often embued with being awakened (that is aware of their spirit), sovereign (graced with honour and trust in themselves), and divine (connected with and honouring of All That Is). This is an acronym I do like! Namaste! PS As ever, all words here are about me, and don’t reflect the views or attributes of others with Aspergers, (unless you have Aspergers and want them to, of course!).

  • Nothing more to be said, really! (and as ever, it’s all about me – not others. OK!)

  • Asperger Syndrome is an Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), which can produce poor social and communications skills, rigid need for rules and routines, inability to recognize certain feelings and emotions, to name but a few… often with an average or above average intelligence. This image symbolizes a sharp intelligence, with brilliant thoughts and ideas stuck inside the mind, unable to express themselves freely in this standardized world, as if kept in their place by invisible prison bars. My youngest son who is 14 was used as a model in this image. Position cursor over thumbnails for more details on the images and how they were used. All photos in this composite where made by me. / Finished in 4th position of Top Ten by popular vote in the Composite of a Part of a Face challenge of the Visual Texture Group on June 5, 2009 but, was awarded 1st place by jury in same challenge!

  • Acrylic paint on three panels. One of a series.

  • 2008, Acrylic on Canvas, 24” x 18” Leonardo DaVinci must have been quite the character to have at a dinner party. I’m sure his conversations sparked some rather awkward moments as well, simply because his way of thinking was different than that of the general population. Hmmm… maybe a case of Aspergers Syndrome? Some would probably call him “weird”; others “genius”. Either way, he was one of the most influential people in history. And his most famous work, The Vitruvian Man, is in essence a measuring tool for the human form. Applied to sheep, it sets a standard of proportions and silliness, which is why Baaa Vinci is the painting which begins by Sheep Incognito book. I used earthy, old-world colors to give it the aged feel of antique paper. My favorite part is the the paunchy belly of this guy – quite contrary to the old fashioned, six-pack that DaVinci’s guy had. Meet the new beauty standard. I’ve been asked what the writing at the top of the painting means. Well, in true sheep manner they’ve followed the master and wrote Baaah, baaah, baaah maaah, maaah baaahbabamah, baaamaaah, in mirrored writing there…. It must be something about the hidden agenda of Sheep Incognito.

  • Sometimes, I swear that I understand electronics better than most humans. It often makes me feel inhuman and/or alienated. I’m not really a robot.

  • I have Asperger’s Syndrome. It is an Autistic Spectrum Disorder. / Sometimes it makes life a little difficult, but it also helps me look at the world differently to most “neurotypicals”. Which, I guess is not such a bad thing. / Autistic Spectrum Disorder is often represented by a rainbow symbol (usually arainbow in the shape of an infinity symbol). / Many autistics are fascinated by shiny objects, so I thought this mirror ball in my stepmother’s yard was very fitting. /
