I finally got to spend a day with my camera.
Taken in Aspen, Colorado.
This grove of aspens is well hidden and undisturbed in the mountains behind my home. The morning light illuminated the magic of the trees as twinkles that looked like fairy dust danced around their feet.

Autumn aspens along an old 4×4 trail in Pingree Park, Colorado.
It’s fall in the Rockies….spectacular golden aspen whisper on the breezes and glow in the morning sun….what a beautiful time of year it is! Estes Park, Colorado.

I took this shot back in 2004 at Rocky Mountain National Park on a trail of many near bear lake. The camera was a Kodak point & shoot with a wide angle screw mount lens.
This is the hike up to the Franconia Gorge – love these trees.

Today in Rocky Mountain National Park, Spring was showing her colors everywhere in a most magnificent way. The aspen, the evergreens, the grasses…..all their own unique shade of green, all aglow against the amazing Colorado blue sky….quite refreshing to the spirit, indeed…..
The light falling on this Colorado mountaintop gives it the appearance of molten lava. The red coloration is from high concentrations of minerals in the soil and rock. A four shot HDR, Pentax K20D, variable shutter speeds at F5.6, ISO 200, 68mm.
The spruce and poplars are intermixed in this forest. This can produce some pretty spectacular colours in the autumn. Olympus E-510; 40-150 mm lens. / ISO 400; f:5.6; 1/200 sec. / Equivalent focal length: 300 mm Hwy 105 / Northwestern Ontario
Fall in the sierra Nevadas.
The autumn trees are quickly loosing their beautiful foliage, as winter inexorably approaches. A field of legumes, with tall grasses at the edge, is bordered by a stand of trees along Rose Valley Road. These legumes are not a crop, they are an “intercrop”, planted for the sole purpose of returning rich nitrogen back into the soil, in the most natural way. This practice is not a wast of precious farmland, it insures a bountiful crop of corn for next years harvest! This photo was taken with a Canon EOS 10D DSLR camera through a Canon EF 35-350mm f/3.5-5.6L telephoto zoom lens @ 35mm focal length. The shutter speed was 1/45th sec at f/16. The camera’s ISO was set to 100. A Manfrotto tripod was used with a remote shutter release. Your comments are always welcome! I took this Fall view of Mount Tallac in the Aspen lined meadow in the foreground. This is only a short distance from beautiful Lake Tahoe…Lynn
Some of you have sent me a Bubblemail asking me to show some of my beginning works. I have mentioned an instructor who was relentless in how we were to paint, sketch and compose our images. I had played with watercolors some, but he introduced us to oils and acrylics. The image you see here was the second acrylic I did, but my first impressionistic image. I had to do the tree trunks over 4 times before my instructor was happy with it… or maybe he took pity on me. ;o) Again, this was based on an imaginary place and not a real landscape. I did this when I was 15 years old. These pieces are the only three that have survived from that time. Featured in: / Impressionism Cafe Dec 2009
