From the Warrior collection, this contemporary Japanese painting is bold in red and white. The Japanese kanji characters in this painting represent the Seven Codes of Bushidō. Bushidō means The Way of the Warrior, the unwritten code of conduct for the samurai warrior of ancient Japanese, and includes: Gi – Justice Yū – Bravery Jin – Benevolence Rei – Politeness Makoto – Veracity Meiyo – Honor Chūgi – Loyalty To some extent, the Bushidō code is similar to the concept of chivalry. The original painting was made with artist-grade acrylics on canvas by the Canadian contemporary artist, Soniei. The teapot topiary is also a fountain, you can see water pouring out of the spout and a sprinkler at the tippy top.. :) Inspiration / The inspiration came through my parents, who have a topiary teapot and a topiary sugar bowl in their own backyard, the also told me of an amazing topiary garden they visited in Tassie recently. / / Here is the “teapot topiary” in my parents’ backyard, they are sculpting teapots and sugar bowls….there are lots of fun things in my mum and dad’s garden !! Even the Cheshire Cat and Tinman have a spot in the sun there :)
