  • Working with lights, shadows, mirrors and reflections.

  • Able to assume the shape of almost any humanoid form, Paik is depicted here in her current form, that of a human female.

  • Waiting
    by ascavilya

Paik is not the most patient of people at any time, and where there is action afoot and swachbuckling to be done, she’s not one who likes to wait around.

  • This was not the original pose I had in mind for this image, nor is the pov. Part of the problem stemmed from the fact that I couldn’t locate the right prop for the pose I wanted, and then trying to modify the pose to fit what I did have just didn’t want to work. So in the end I scrapped that and went where inspiration took me. And if you now have that song by Roxette playing through your mind you’ll understand what has been going through my head ever since I started working on this.

  • Protector

Everyone needs someone to watch over them.

  • A bit of a play on words as Arianne Rothschild irons out the last bugs in her latest creation. I had this scene kicking around in my head for some time, and sitting in D|S for almost as long. I kept getting distracted by other things and working on other images or ideas but finally Arianne has worked out the last of the bugs.

  • Xifeng – also known as the Western Pheonix, she is the matriarch of one of the most powerful crime syndicates across the globe. This image was the result of my attempts to create an “action figure” style of character. / I’ve tried to keep the plasticy appearance of the skin and clothing as you would expect to find if you saw this in the toy department of your local department store. And like all good toys, Xifeng comes with her own base that interlocks with the other characters in the series. Of course all this only exists in my mind, but if Mattel, Hasbro or any other toy manufacturer want to contact me, I’m open to negotiation. lol

  • Winddancer Eh’ru is an anomaly amongst her people. She was given the name Eh’ru (flightless one) at her naming ceremony as her wings had not formed and only protruded as nubs from her shoulder blades. Eh’ru’s path to becoming a winddancer (protector of the land and its peoples) was not halted here. She was gifted with the power of the elements which first made themselves known as she reached puberty and is able to summon the wind to do her bidding, making her the first “true” winddancer in over a thousand years.

  • Tilly Adams, on arrival and requesting permission to enter the city. Tilly isn’t one who likes to be kept waiting.

  • Initially this was going to be a normally lit and rendered piece but one of the light sets I loaded just looked to cool not to try and use and the result is the image above – 1 part Kill Bill, 1 part Ninja Scroll.

  • Trapped
    by ascavilya

Whilst investigating what appeared to be a disused building deep in the forest, Paik heard the sound of something scraping across tiles. Spinning on her heel and drawing her sword she was greeted by the open maw of a snake the likes of which she had never seen and only heard of in rumor – a Dinokonder.

  • A day in the life
    by ascavilya

Things are not / Always what they seem / And people you meet / They can come and go The road of life winds on / Up hill, down dale, crest …

  • Even in the future, the life of a private investigator hasn’t really changed, and every back alley looks the same no matter the town you’re in. A cyborg PI who’s gunned down something else that isn’t quite human. How much of your humanity can you lose and still call yourself human? * / A bit of a homage to the old PI’s of the 1920’s with a 200 year twist. I wonder what Mickey Spillane would have thought?

  • This is the redone version of X-Communicated so it could be made into a T-Shirt.

  • Left Waiting
    by ascavilya

    US$3.42–US$91.20

Time crawls when you are left waiting, not sure if someone will arrive.

  • A change of direction and my first attempt at a pin up style image.

  • And let’s be honest, with these three making that demand it would be a brave soul indeed who chose otherwise. The sea has always been referred to as a woman, and that must make these three her daughters in flesh. Terrorizing the highs seas from all parts of the known world they have come together in an uneasy alliance, but one that promises to bring riches beyond their wildest dreams. On the left we have Mingxia Jiang from Singapore. / On the right we have Yvette de Lorme from France. / And in the centre we have Isabel Valdez from Spain.

  • Being a changeling has its advantages, especially when you are called upon to impersonate a Drow.

  • You could say that this is a follow up to Zen-The art of Contemplation, and in a way I guess it is. I started playing around with various outfits, mixing and matching until I came up with this. Tweaked the pose and then hit the same light set as I used for the first Zen pic.

  • Something from left of field.
