... this was the promo piece I drew Amber for (as mentioned in Amber) Love the magazine. Hoping they’d like it enough to possibly publish it. Sent ages ago though and haven’t heard back. meh… Amber was worth it anyway. Love the end result, and I don’t care what they or ya’ll think. heh, okay that’s not true. Us artists thrive on the opinions of others. Don’t hate her, please… sniff

Just about every drawing or photo I’ve seen of Lara Croft has been with that destinctive ponytail plait. So I thought I’d do her in a more “relaxed” pose.
Wet acrylic painted onto wet canvas. / Black ink used for accent edging.
Drawing doodles help me concentrate on what is said at meetings, especially boring one, it’s definitely a form of meditation! A4 I’ve been doing these for years and years and years.. in fact, just over 17 years ;)
I decided to put this calendar together made up from artworks my grandmother had done in the 1920’s. Most of the work was done between 1925 and 1928. Her name was Rona Collings (nee Steel) In July, 2009, my grandmother would have turned 100. Sadly she passed away 6 years ago. We shared so much, she had a wicked sense of humour and a wonderful passion for learning. Grandma had an amazing mind. Her hobby was to enter quiz shows and she appeared on many television shows. Most of them she won. BP Pick-a-Box, Temptation, Great Temptation and Sale of the Century to name a few. I certainly miss her…. I had last year written a journal here about my gorgeous grandma. 5”x7” This is a handmade card I created with Koh-I-Noor woodless colour pencils, water based ink brush pens, oil pastel and gold metallic ink on Canvas Paper. The eye of the bird is actually a very tiny glass green bead. This creation is partly inspired by The Golden Bird by The Brothers Grimm ”...As the clock struck twelve he heard a rustling noise in the air, and a bird came flying that was of pure gold; and as it was snapping at one of the apples with its beak, the gardener’s son jumped up and shot an arrow at it. But the arrow did the bird no harm; only it dropped a golden feather from its tail, and then flew away…” / Read the entire story here I do love fairy tales and even more so, fantastical creatures, I hope you enjoy this one… Carrie Collect the whole series… / You can contact Carrie at: carrie@carrieglennstudios.com and please visit Carrie Glenn Studios /
