I have also used a variety of found objects, including lace and ribbons…and an especially beautiful gold paint for the wings which were underpainted first to created texture. On of my favourite paintings, my heart and soul went into this piece…two sweet little girls in darling dresses hanging out in the garden together….what could be nicer.

Migaloo is a mixed media production on canvas textured paper. Gazing out to sea on a warm summer day, she notices something, some movement further out to see, was that a splash or just the sea crashing on a bombie or coral reef out there? squinting…..squinting…..squinting…..... oh my! it’s a white whale!....Migaloo no less!

In this painting I have endeavored to reduce the landscape down to its absolute minimum, focusing purely on the line of salt-bush on the horizon, with one solitary bird hovering in the air, to give the impression of the raw empty heat of a mid day summer where nothing stirs until l the cool of the evening. . . It was so much fun to paint this one. The inspiration for the stripes on the towels came from the wierdest idea. I was just staring one day at a set of brightly coloured corkboard pins at my eye level on the cupboard and the idea was born! Inspiration comes from all over the place!
