Yes, before you say it … strange! :-) As of July 2009, this painting has had 5,048 viewings and has been favourited 79 times and had 194 comments, so I guess someone out there likes it. Many thanks for your enthusiasm. To be candid though, I’ll never cease to be amazed at its reception, as I didn’t spend too much time on it and even kept it out of my portfolio for ages as I thought it was sub-standard. I found this last night looking through my travel journal, I drew it whilst waiting with baited breath for the clothes to finish their cycle in a London Laundromat. Accompanied by part of the journal entry… ‘Omg I’m using a laundromat for the first time ever! After spending 5 minutes trying to put my 1 pound coin into the machine, I finally realised it was asking for 3×1 pound coins all at once ( which of course I didnt have on me) When I finally got the coins going a block of soap appeared from nowhere, unsure of what to do with the soap I stick it in with the clothes. / 45 minutes of watching my clothes spin round passed. They come out all sticky, with my luck Im allergic to the detergent. I then transfered the clothes to the dryer. nb. dryer does not dry clothes as such, juts shrinks them. My new dress is now a tshirt.” Still, its funny I wouldnt change that expreience for anything, this was my favourite sketch from the whole trip!

You think your life is odd… You have 4 seemingly stable dimentions / to go about your shopping in… Based on sketches for a Childrens (+ adult childrens) book I am working on. Created from many pen doodles on reverse side of junk recycled band pamphlets (Snow Patrol – YAWN) from my old job… scanned in and some good old photoshopin’ Enjoy trying to find all the little secrets, enjoy watching your friends scratch there academic heads at this one… Makes M C Escher look like an accountant :P Peace skateboard? /

This one is about the connection we have with our loved ones, roses always speak volumes about beauty, love, romance…......and wanting to connect…...what happens we we give and receive roses, why do we give and receive them…..it’s really sentimental stuff…..ahh where would we be without all that roses say for us, through us, about us, to others :) I hope you like my “Sweet Rosie”.....these roses are for you :)

I’ve had my nose buried in the art of Da Vinci over the past couple of days, re-familiarizing myself with his mastery. / As much as I love his paintings, it’s his sketchwork that intrigues me the most…... his sketch workups for his paintings have such humanity in them, his invention sketches showing us a tiny glimpse of his genius, & those anatomy sketches giving us some insight into his constant need for knowledge…. Sadly I haven’t drawn anything for almost 5 years, but today the great Master has inspired me to pick up a pen after all this time, & I have to say it feels great! This image began life 12 years ago as a single line drawing hastily sketched as a thought came into my head. I’ve often looked at it with stirrings of interest….. / So today, with visions of Da Vinci & ancient manuscripts in my head I am drawing again .
