  • This man works infront of the Empress Hotel in Victoria, British Columbia. I bought two prints from him, one based around Mother Earth and the other based around the Tree of Life. He has an interesting look to both himself and his prints. On a sidenote, I went back to Victoria about 8 months after I took this, found him selling his wares at the same place and gave him a copy of this photo. The version here is actually the 3rd reincarnation of this shot as I haven’t been truly happy with the post processing until now.

  • 16”x24” Mixed Media (Airbrush and Ink) She looked through to her past, remembering, contemplating, holding it close to her. One day…she looked deeper…deeper still and she knew it was time to let it go. She released her past…and watched as it flew far away from her…to it’s own future…to it’s own place wild, open and free. Having let it go…she is now free, having looked through the past and on to the future. – By Carrie Glenn / Inspiration and background courtesy of Lord Michael Gatch Featured in Out of the Past / (Thanks Jerame and Michael) Featured in Surrealism / (Thanks Hop Helen and Marison ) Featured in All Things Poetic, Prose, Philosophical / (Thanks Susan) Featured in Northwest Artists / (Thanks EllieWinds) Featured in The Healing Journey / (Thanks Julie) You can contact Carrie at: carrie@carrieglennstudios.com and please visit Carrie Glenn Studios /

  • Acrylic on canvas, 12”x24” SOLD $1200 (Study Painting) / This painting is inspired by the heroes of an authentic tragedy which was also dramatized by Chikamatsu in 1722. Hanbei was a greengrocer from Osaka who married Ochiyo, a village beauty. There love was so strong their story became a village legend. Hanbei’s spiteful mother Omine tormented his new wife with scorn and disdain, so much so that the young couple chose to commit suicide, though Ochiyo was with child. / Perhaps they felt their love would live on, in yet another life? • ” In a man’s life, his time is but a moment, his being a mere flux, his senses a dim glimpse, and his soul a restless eddy. / The things of the body pass like a flowing stream.. / Life is a brief sojourn, and one’s mark in this world is soon forgotten.” Marcus Aurelius Watercolour on Saunders Waterford Not Paper…a new addition to the series “Everyday Things”... / Still Life with Picture Wire

  • It is one of the saddest events for any parent when a child dies. I have numerous people asking me for paintings while attuned to my Spirit Guides. These are sad moments, but the paintings bring comfort to many people. Gilly died at a very young age. He was a typical young boy with very old fashioned ideals. He liked adventures with pirates and built ships which could whisk him away to glorious places, not yet discovered. As a young child I often saw Gilly’s Spirit, but didn’t know him. Today, after all these years he has made himself know to me in this painting. Both his parents have now passed over and I dedicated this painting to his memory…..... I add the words of Khalil Gibran – Lebanese American artist, poet and writer. (1883 -1931) The songs of the waves and the hymns of the streams / Are scattered, and the voices of the throngs reduced to silence; / And I can hear naught but the music of Eternity / In exact harmony with the spirit’s desires. / I am cloaked in full whiteness; / I am in comfort; I am in peace…..... Understanding Gilly…......... Music – Mighty Men of Old – by Paul Collier. August 27th 2009

  • WINNER of the challenge Whitby Whitby / North Yorkshire, UK The History of Whitby Whitby has a wonderful history, a ruined abbey, a working harbour, a delightful collection of red-roofed pantile cottages, narrow cobbled streets, and claims to have the country’s best fish and chip shops. The town is also close to the scenic North York Moors National Park and the unspoilt fishing villages of Staithes and Robin Hood’s Bay. Whitby is divided in two by the River Esk. St Mary’s Church and Whitby Abbey are on the eastern headland. The Abbey is accessible by road, and also via 199 steps from the town to the summit. These steps have associations with Bram Stoker, as he based much of his Dracula novel here whilst staying in Whitby in 1890. Charles Lutwidge Dodgson (better know as Lewis Carroll) also set some of his work and poems in Whitby, as he was a regular visitor. The Abbey’s history dates back to 675 A.D. when St. Hilda founded a monastery. The present structure is from 1078 and is now in the care of English Heritage.
