I wanted to write a specific post on what we are looking for in this group and what isn’t really appropriate. as it says in the description, this is more about artistry rather than titillation or pornography. RedBubble has some well established guidelines on this subject but I would like to clarify them so that there is minimal confusion. The guidelines state: “No pornography or sexually explicit material is permissible. We understand that nudity is legitimate area for artistic expression but no images that could be construed as pornographic and no images that display genitalia.“ / This means that a small amount of pubic hair and mound are fine, labia are contentious and any depictions of the vulva will be bounced. I recommend staying away from really obvious open legged poses. With men, an erect penis is too much as well and I think it is safe to say penetration is right out! I would appreciate no more than three works added per day from any one artist in order to give everyone a well mixed group. I know there is a lot of controversy about censorship at the moment. these guidelines were worked out in advance to stick with RedBubble’s own guidelines. I am not running down more explicit nudes – in fact I’m a fan of quite a few explicit works. however, in this situation we are trying to present nudes that will appeal to a greater audience, rather than create contention. I’d like to make this a discussion area in the forums because everyone has a different view on what nude art should cover.. or uncover.

Hi Everyone, / I am now hosting a new group for those in Australia (Melbourne at this stage but will also include other Australian areas) This group is to teach some of the skills and tricks you will find useful in shooting Artistic Nude and also other Artistic adult styles such as fetish and Gothic. The group will be running workshops with photographers and models skilled in these genres in either studio or on location. Various photographers and models will also be submitting various journal articles in relation to their perspectives and approaches to shoots. Workshops will also be run in cooperation with other Red Bubble groups At this stage, we are inviting submission of your best Artistic adult images (Until the first workshops are completed) so that everyone can get a good idea of what this group is all about. What a wonderful month thus far / I have won the Mammals Challenge in the all that is nature group with this Northern Elephant Seal image Got a third place in the same group macro challenge for this Julia Heliconian butterfly, which also won first place in the Goodbye, Butterfly! challenge hosted by the Zoophoria group / This image also won first Place in the your best macro challenge hosted by the Macro Untouched group I won third place in the The Conversation challenge hosted by the Candid Photography group / for my Communication! – School children play with public phone in Costa Rica image I was the runner up in the Weekly contest – Animal of all kinds challenge hosted by the Animal Photography group for my image A female Elephant seal Mirounga angustirostris which also won a second place in the Wildlife challenge hosted by the Challenge Café group In the Latin America Group i won second place in the Latin America Book #1 challenge for my Titikaka Man image I won second place in the The Pacific Coastline of California challenge hosted by the California Sound group for my Tranquility image. I’m also the only non photographic entry to make the top 10 which I think is a bit of a shame, as there were heaps of good drawings and paintings in the comp :( having said that I also voted for 2 of the images that beat me(obviously my strat is flawed if I want to achieve victory), as well as 2 others in the top ten so I can’t talk really I guess, however most of my votes (like 50 others or more) went to handmade arts. Hi everyone… If you’re in or can be in Sydney on 31st May 2009, then maybe here’s a photo shoot that you might be interested in… A few friends and I are planning a huge photoshoot… The aim is to get a large number of models 40-50 to pose nude in various formations in studio surroundings… All people / body shapes are welcome.
