wandering the back lanes of Melbourne recently with Heather Hartkamp, we turned a corner and came across these little angels practicing their art. They were more than happy to have their photo taken, and quickly ‘assumed the pose’.

I recently received a comment on this photo in flickr from someone who has taken a more recent shot of the blue girl. This is what she looks like now I took this photo on election day last November. I’d gone to meet a couple of friends at Movida, a great Spanish restaurant in Melbourne, but they were late. I decided to take some pictures of the alleyway while I waited for them to arrive. I remember that had my camera in one hand and my phone in the other, talking to my mother who called from Canada to cheer about and discuss Obama’s election. This little alleyway is popular with local graffiti artists, and regularly goes through updates so I’m sure this visage is no longer quite the same now! I’d love to transport myself back there now and see what stands in its place. /
