I had to wade through the darkness of surviving, an abusive childhood, to come out into the light. I am happy to say i’ve arrived at a good place in my healing journey. This image, my words, they reflect a time and place, when things were very dark and the pain was difficult to navigate. My favorite band Avenged Sevenfold at the very end of their set. / They were the headlining band at How the Edge Stole Christmas – Night 2 on December 15, 2007. / Avenged Sevenfold is a metal/hard rock band (for those who don’t know) and you can get think through what they’re wearing, and the obvious international “rock on” hand / One of their best songs, Unholy Confessions, was the song they ended with. / At the end of the song, during the last main riff (which is when your blood is pumping, adrenaline rushing through your body, VERY intense part of the song) smoke starts flowing and on a big down beat at the peak of intesity confetti shot out and everyone went insane / luckily I was able to get that shot after I nearly passed out from screaming along with the song and going total ape sh*t when the confetti went off =]

About this image / I was hesitant to post this image because it doesn’t have that pristine, whispering from the ethers appeal, that i like to create with my photography. But the more i looked at it, the more it grew on me and i began to embrace the flaws for the unique beauty they offer.
