This is Another Example of the Many Signs, Banners, Murals and the Like that Popped Up Around Salt Lake City, Utah, USA Before and During the Winter Olympics that Bid “Welcome”. This Mural “Welcomes The World” with Colorful Silhouette Dancers Livening Up an Otherwise Drab Brick Wall.
On a Wet Summer Day, Rather Than Go Out in the Rain to Photograph and Get Soaked, I Opted to Just Shoot the Rain Through the Window. The Out-of-Focus World in the Background with the Rain-Spattered Window in the Foreground Makes For an Interesting Abstract. Additional Interest and Artistic Effect was Created by Applying Photoshop CS3’s “Distort” “Glass Blocks” Filter. Would make a Fine Wall Art Abstract Piece.

I created this abstract piece in Crayola crayon while having an intense conversation over the phone. As I look at various parts of the work, my memory is jolted back to whatever was being said at the moment I was creating that particular section. So the work is a diary of the conversation. Here and there are flecks of of crayon that contrast with the color underneath. I started to eliminate that but then I thought no, keep it real.
