The surf works at all tide stages but mid to high tend to have an edge. It is the only beach in the area that benefits from some protection from the South/Southwesterly winds, thanks to Baggy Point headland. Peaks are scattered all along its length. It has a fairly slow waves which are suitable for beginners. The sandy beach has some rocky outcrops which provide paddling pools.

‘Friends Series’ card by Karin Taylor Best of Friends is a mixed media production (ink, pastel, charcoal, acrylic) on canvas textured paper. Two sweet little girls with towels over their shoulders, one in a terry towelling dress on their way to the beach, and it’s such a bright sunny day with a big swell, hope they know to swim between the flags!!!
www.glennalderson.com Location: Adelaide Botanic Garden’s glasshouse Amazon Waterlily Pavilion. Native to Brazil and the Amazon this lily can grow up to 8’ leaves that can hold 300lbs. These strong and stiff leaves are covered with 1” spines on the maroon bottom of supporting ribs and sides. The new leaf is flat before growing a 3-6” rim. I wasnt happy with the light & colours on the origonal, so I made some adjustments (to the extream I saturated it). Like my image of Autumn Vines – Aldinga Beach . The sun was going down behind the towers and formations caused by millenia of erosion in southeastern Utah, USA, creating grand silhouettes. This particular one, “Balanced Rock” in Arches Nat’l Park, was made more painting-like than photo via Photoshop CS2’s posterization filter.
The sun was going down and cast a soft purplish luminescense over the towers and formations caused by millenia of erosion in southeastern Utah, USA. Being that the area is often referred to as “red rock” country and I like the artistic effect created by Photoshop CS2’s posterization filter, I filtered this image to be more like an art piece than a photograph and gave it a reddish cast.

Plaza de toros de Ronda a.k.a. the Bullring of Ronda. Ronda is one of the most beautiful little towns I’ve ever seen. In the south of Spain, it is built on a gorge, the old town on one side, the new town on the other. The Puente Nuevo bridge spans the gorge and stands 120m above the canyon floor. (A very impressive sight, I can tell you!) The bullring was built in 1785 and is one of the oldest operational bullfighting venues in Spain. In fact, I believe it may be one of the last bullrings still hosting fights (although very rarely). This image was featured in European Everyday Life September 25, 2008.
Beautiful Pa’ako Beach, Makena Cove near Alanui Road Makena Maui Hawai’i. Copyright © Sharon Mau 2009 / All Rights Reserved This is a part of the last pristine and very beautiful undeveloped coastline on Maui. Please help us preserve and protect Makena. The magnificent Humpback Whales frequent this area during winter months on their annual migration from Alaska to Hawaiian waters for calving and breeding and come quite close to shore during season. The beautiful and sacred Honu, sea turtles may be seen feeding in the early morning light. The beautiful and secluded Po’olenalena Beach is nearby as well. There are many names to describe this beautiful secluded beach east of Makena on Alanui Road bordered by lava rocks and palm trees. You may notice Oneloa, also well known as Big Beach, in the distance. The hill is called Pu’u Olai, a red cinder cone 360 feet high. The wave action is extraordinary and the golden sand is deep and luxurious. There is a large tide pool on the right of the beach which is wonderful for swimming. A favourite among the locals for fishing and enjoyed by many families with children, scuba divers and snorkelers, there are wonderful views of Molokini and Kaho`olawe Island. This is one of the most popular beaches on Maui for small weddings. ~ Aloha e Malama pono, Sharon Mau Canon EOS Digital Rebel XTi / Shooting Date/Time 28 June 2008 19:18:52 / Tv( Shutter Speed ) 1/1600 / Av( Aperture Value ) 6.3 / ISO Speed 200 / Lens EF28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM
