I’ve finally joined the world of RedBubble collaborations! I’ve written a story for CathieT’s image, And Rose Moxon has created an illustration for one of my stories, ‘A Vision from the Ocean’ What a great start to the weekend :) xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Thought I’d add in my recent collaboration, after rikkipaul made a request! I’ve written a story for his image, xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx In response to a challenge to do a darker story, I selected an image of artemis74’s! Then I complained that she had too many happy photos, so she uploaded one specially for the purpose hehe! / Images by artemis74

Part of the collaboration on the RB forums, here is my attempt at ‘Artemis74’s’ photo. / (ie. this is not my photo and used with permission from the owner) I used a filter program on it to get it to B+W, then converted it to tritone, using black, red, and yellow, and then dodged and burned to extract the facial features out.

by Dee BoylanI think it’s important to remember that whilst It’s good to celebrate living in Australia with all our diversities and cultures and freedom it’s just as important to acknowledge the ways in which we could change and grow. Saying “sorry” to the original Indigenous inhabitants of this country is the first of many important steps that must be taken in order for the healing of past and present wrongs to take place….when this is done we will truly be able to move forward and celebrate Australia day for all.
