Ἄρτεμις: Muse, sing of Artemis, sister of the Far-shooter, the virgin who delights in arrows, who was fostered with Apollo. She waters her horses from Meles deep in reeds, and swiftly drives her all-golden chariot through Smyrna to vine-clad Claros where Apollo, god of the silver bow, sits waiting for the far-shooting goddess who delights in arrows. / —Homeric Hymn to Artemis 9.1–10 More Olympians / / / /

a lovely maiden kneels as she creates magic beneath the full moon. This acolyte with upraised arm entreats the goddess to aid her.
ARTEMIS – in Greek mythology she was the maiden goddess of the hunt, bearing a bow and arrows, and later became associated with the Moon. By languid pool, by chance I spied, / A greenish fellow wink his eye. / He winked his eye from on his log, / I chance that fellow is a frog.
Following the success of the dot to dot ducky I thought I might start a whole new series of vaguely cute animal type creatues. To whit, #1 in the series Mr Artemis Frog.

/ The wrath do thou sing, O goddess, of Peleus’son, Achilles, that baneful wrath which brought countless woes upon the Achaeans, and sent forth to Hades many valiant souls of warriors, and made themselves to be a spoil for dogs and all manner of birds; and thus the will of Zeus was being brought to fulfilment; ó sing thou thereof from the time when at the first there parted in strife Atreus’son, king of men, and goodly Achilles. Who then of the gods was it that brought these two together to contend? The son of Leto and Zeus; for he in wrath against the king roused throughout the host an evil pestilence, and the folk were perishing, for that upon the man Chryses, his priest, had the son of Atreus wrought dishonour. For he had come to the swift ships of the Achaeans to free his daughter, and he bore with him ransom past counting; and in his hands he held the fillets of Apollo, that smiteth afar, on a staff of gold, and he made prayer to all the Achaeans, but most of all to the two sons of Atreus, the marshallers of the host: “Ye sons of Atreus, and ye other well-greaved Achaeans, to you may the gods who havehomes upon Olympus grant that ye sack the city of Priam, and return safe to your homes; but my dear child do ye set free for me, and accept the ransom out of awe for the son of Zeus, Apollo, that smiteth afar.” I thought I’d take the bull by the horns here, for my 5th stock image artwork. Still need some practice but I was happy with this. Anyone may know I love Greek mythology so my 1st big project had to have some elements of it and I chose the story of Helen and the Trojan War, one of my favourites, to do. This has many images in it…some are my own, some are stock and some are public domain so here we go with stock credits… Helen..(can’t find, from DA, will add asap) / Trojan Horse…(can’t find, from DA, will add asap) / Crow / Cassandra / Artemis / Helmet / Celtic Brushes Poseidon, Temple, Achilles Slays Hector and Apollo are public domain. / All other images are my own. **The Greek writing… / The wrath do thou sing, O goddess, of Peleus’ son, Achilles, that baneful wrath which brought countless woes upon the Achaeans, and sent forth to Hades many valiant souls of warriors… An earlier one…Poseidon’s Temple
