Just a little spin off from the handgun image i was working on…mixed with talking about this expression. “words are weapons” the other day. Its kinda a bit existenz meets aliens…creepy like. Anywho, One to raise the awareness that people should watch what they say as it can hurt the feelings of other people. I could have gone the other way and called it shooting off your mouth, but hey…im the peaceful type at heart. / ;-)

We all have artists on our watchlist that we think are wonderful, but who may not get the recognition they deserve or their work just gets passed by in the influx of daily work here on Redbubble. I would like to form a journal entry here that serves the purpose of bringing awareness and traffic to these underappreciated artists, so my proposal is that anyone who wished to come into this journal and post 1 or 2 links to artists on their watchlists whom they absolutely adore. This idea was originally begun by JULIE LANGFORD so please be sure to visit her journal HERE too for more amazing work! Also feel free to link to their images as well, and try not to repeat the same artists as have already been mentioned and promoted. This way we can get the word out about so many of these tremendous hidden talents here at Redbubble. I have two artists I would now like to introduce to you that I have on my watchlist: David Linkenauger and Shelley Spillenaar David is one of my fellow home state photographers and takes really nice waterscape images, and Shelley in my mmind has a wonderful eye and a keen sense of capturing the right moment with animals. Please go take a look at the wonderful work of these two artists, and if you like what you see be sure to tell them so and maybe even add them to your watchlist! Also, be sure to scan your own watchlist for someone who you think deserves more attention than they are currently getting in the world of Redbubble! Let’s make this a huge success!

Karin’s storefront iAN’s storefront This has been an amazing experience to be a part of….an enormous thank you to Matt Mawson who has tirelessly and generously worked over the past 2 days to bring this little book into being….. I could never have done it without you Matt! And of course a huge thank you to the amazing writer and friend of mine, one of those great Aussie characters that just keeps on keeping on, keeps on getting better with age…. that is iAN Derrick I first met iAN through a journal Matt wrote about one of iAN’s books, and since that day, we sorta hit it off….. I talked to iAN about my father and he also was inspired to write another short story called Understanding Harry and correct me if i’m wrong, but i think he may have been inspired to write a story that reflected some of the goings on with Matt’s four legged friend also. One day I got an email from the amazing iAN, saying although he thought my father should be the one to tell and publish his own stories, he’d had a little idea and brought it to life in Understanding Harry and not long after this i received a second email saying that he’d done it again, but i would have to wait til the morning when he loaded the story to red bubble, and he and I and hubby all savoured the moment….....waiting with baited breath, until upon waking in the morning two days ago, I was thrilled to discover this wonderful story had been written. A story about my characters…involved a certain Mrs T….but i will tell you no more, as it’s a must read…and you can read it over here She Sells Sea Cards by the Sea Shore Thank you iAN and Thank you Matt i am eternally grateful

/ “At Times” is part of the Abstract Collection and is inpired by the poem of the same name....how many times when we reach a crossroad in our lives, we become afraid…suddenly all that we were trying to escape seem too good to lose, and the road ahead seems fraught with difficulties…but we’ll never know till we take that first step....for D… Watercolour on Arches Paper… At times the mountains seem insurmountable now / As I gaze at them from the safety of a warm, flowering meadow. / There is snow upon the peaks and chill winds / gust angrily above me. / Yet, as beautiful as the meadow is, I have been here too long. / And the song of birds have grown dull, / The flowers seem artificial, and the frogs too content. / I want to fly myself above the peaks, sing my own songs, / And climb till every vestige of every dream is silent. / Why am I afraid to travel where destiny draws me? / Why do I hesitate when a familiar echo deep in the caverns of my heart calls me? / This is no time to reminisce, to watch the circling crows and drifting clouds. / It is time to move lest winter harden my limbs and freeze my fantasies, / It is time to move boldly and bravely and remember / That the purest air is waiting in the heights / And a single step is enough to be on my way...J. Acrylic and metallic paint on canvas, 46” x 38”. This is a commissioned abstract work for a client re-staging her home for sale. I created this expressionistic piece to tie a black, white and tan gallery art wall together and to become the focal point of the room. / I call the work “Outside The Lines”, in that the strong black lines create structure and balance and yet the color does not conform to the boundaries. The wild movement of the colors contrast and create chaos within the design of symmetry.
