I believe we’ve all eaten from this tree, at some time or another.. / / Mixture of digital art + several actual photos. / Work time: 4 or 5 hours (using the magnetic lasso tool in CS3 on / and around every tree branch, then cleaning them up with the eraser +blur) very intricate work. Same thing with the hearts.. /

The early morning sunlight softly lights up the bark from a Melaleuca tree creating a wonderful abstract work of art! Macro photography from the bark of a tea-tree!

This door detail was photographed in Avanos, a small town in the Cappadocia region of central Turkey. The bright colors and old wood of houses and doors in these small towns are often beautiful and always intriguing. The splintered wood, tooled brass lock and handle, and encroaching shadow give this piece a sense of mystery for me.
