Taken a few miles east of Leicester, near Allexton. Its that time in the UK, just before the wheat gets harvested – heavy heads beginning to nod gently under the weight of the grain, and the weather unable to decide whether it is summer or not, threatening to flatten the crop, just it is ready. Leicestershire is full of distant horizons like this, and the Barley is all but in now, much of the ground already having been put under the plough in readiness for the next crop.

Sunset Ho’okipa Beach Maui Hawai’i These are true colours with no postprocessing. The beautiful pastel colours of this exquisite sunset are created by atmospheric conditions of the Vog from the volcanic activity on the Big Island. She was originally named Lydia Liliu Loloku Walania Wewehi Kamaka’eha, Lydia Liliuokalani Paki, and also known as Lydia Kamakaʻeha Paki, with the chosen royal name of Liliʻuokalani. Queen Liliʻuokalani was an accomplished author and songwriter. Her book, Hawaiʻi’s Story by Hawaiʻi’s Queen, gave her view of the history of her country and her overthrow and therefore became the first Native Hawaiian female author. Liliʻuokalani was known for her musical talent. Lili’u is said to have played guitar, piano, organ, ‘ukulele and zither. She also sang alto, performing Hawaiian and English sacred and secular music. She would find herself in music. In her memoirs she wrote: “to compose was as natural to me as to breathe. This gift remains a source of the greatest consolation.” She wrote over 165 songs and chants. Some of her best-known musical compositions include the song, “Aloha ʻOe”, “The Queen’s Jubilee”, “He Mele Lahui Hawai’i”, and “Ku’u Pua I Paoakalani” ~ Source: Wikipedia !!

After a storm I went on my roof to see if there were any cool clouds to shoot, but I found this great rainbow. I tweaked it a little to help make the colors pop a little.

My first attempt of a sailing brig in rough seas, was a bit of a headache, but I love the result.

The original title of this, was Ten Miles High – which is probably as close to space as I will ever get. It is the sunlight reflected off the icepack somewhere near the Labrador coast, and was taken when everyone else on the airplane seemed to be asleep. In the picture, though RB possibly will not be able to show it large enough, just left of centre, are a number of lightning bolts. Now, Ive seen lightning from the ground many a time, and it is, for me, a humbling and spine tingling feeling to watch natures might unleash itself on the world. I feel so very insignificant when I realise that there, very small, is something I am in awe of. Every time I look at this, I ask myself, am I worthy? Why am I here? What is my purpose in life? I am not religious, but more spiritual, and tend to take the best from different belief systems in order to live my life as well as I can. So, no view such as this should be denied the world, or kept to myself, or lost. Please take the time to view it large, and to study it in every detail – take from it what you will, and interpret it for yourself. I would love to hear how you, the viewers, feel about this image.
