Thank you for this feature ‘Masterpieces: Literary Workshop’ Group… / ...the same group of rowdy kids who’d hurled raw eggs on me and my paintings came-up and one of them, sounding more jeering than informing me with any sympathy, said to me that “there’s been a great earthquake and a giant tidal wave in India today…I seemed to have lost my ground and I panicked…worried more about my kids and my family back in India… The rest is history… Tsunami had struck…the TV said….. ...In October 2004 while I was staying at Dr. R.S. Bola’s house on 46, Amberley Road, Slough, SL2 2LR, England, I had no way of knowing that in the wildest of my imagination that England could ever see floods, ever. I had no notion at all. THE FLOODS CAME TO ENGLAND IN THE SUMMER OF 2007, WHICH IS HISTORY AS WELL… ...SO HOW DID IT EVER OCCUR TO ME TO PAINT A TSUNAMI WHEN I’D NEVER EVEN HEARD THE WORD BEFORE?…OR PAINTING ’ A PLACE I KNOW’... This poem is Based on at least (3) three events / 1.! See the painting A Wave by artist Jarko 2.! The Last months series of Events involving two other on-line communities and (Like the tile infers “The Plagiarism of Amanda Joy’s Poetry’ including may adventures here being inspired and spelling the inspiration out here on RedBubble. It’s really an amazing story of flowering creative courage. And three (3.!) while writing the poem the image of the painting “A Wave” just slid deeply into me deep and quiet as it just guided the poem’s writing the mysterious whole way. Thank you Jarko for your 19 years of work inspired by yet another work. / And so, as Jarko states in the images description: oil on canvas 190×120cm I’ve used “A Wave” by Ivan Aiwazovsky as a model. Even if it is a copy, it took 19 years (!) to paint this.
