The storms were fierce with a ton of rain last night. I decided to take of work and spend the day at the falls near my house. I must have snapped 200 pictures today. What a great day!! I found a new toy its my infrared lens. • NOW AVAILABLE IN PRINT After some weeks of developing this piece in my mind it finally just started to come together. As usual I went at the theme with something different in mind. What are we to say about how the divine eye sees our world or we may see the divine world in comparison to our own. This thought inspired a more surreal feel to the finished product. • This was taken in Cumberland Falls Kentucky. This is one of only two places on earth that renders a Moon Bow. The other Falls that has a Moon Bow is Victoria Falls in Africa. This is a combination of two photo’s to add heighth to the tree line and a sky. I did some digital painting work on this to blen the two in a pleasing manor.

  • A black and white pastel on black acid free paper of the beautiful, cascading Horseshoe Waterfalls, Australia. What delight we felt when we first discovered this. It was located at the end of our street where we used to live and was only a 5 minute walk, that took us to a peaceful place where we could forget the world for a while. It is still only a 10 minute drive away. Waterfalls are usually geological formations resulting from water, often in the form of a stream flowing over an erosion-resistant rock that forms a nickpoint or sudden break in elevation. Whatever the description waterfalls are a natural wonder and there are some breathtaking ones all over the world. The waterfall drops its sparkling veil / covering its rock face leaving slippery trails / twinkling drops of water bursting in the light / its beauty never ending even at night! • This pastel was to be a tribute to Mimi Yoon. I am always blown away by her women. The lips and eyes of her women grab you, draw you in and don’t let go… but for me it is the the hair. Always the perfect frame to showcase the creation. Sometimes the hair will look like that quick last minute addition… but it is always the perfect ‘crowning’ piece of the picture. Part of the perfect mix. I wanted to capture just a hint of the woman’s face with beautiful full lips and then just let go with the hair. Let the pastels fly: loose and wild… but damn-it… I had to slow down and get the lighting just right. Sorry Mimi I tried. Maybe someday I will feel the freedom that you enjoy. I’m workin’ on it. Thanks for the inspiration. This is an 8×10 in. art marker and chalk pastel on watercolor paper.
