Taken on the tube on the way to Covent garden in London.
Photography by Jenny Davis / Taken in Paris 2007 / This piece is connected to my interest in and continual research and documentation of underground spaces, surfaces, corners, crevices, signage ,graffiti ,consumer packaging etc . It’s all street art . Over many years I have used paint, photography and found objects to express myself in an abstract way, developing imagery from surfaces and spaces in urban and country enviroments worldwide. I am fascinated by the the beauty in the unseen, sometimes thought of as dirty and ugly

The original was done in watercolor and gouache on Arches cold-press in 2005. / Good composition and likeness in this one. Oh, how I miss the punk rock girl….
What does it mean? The question is: what should it mean? It should mean that we’re unique, we think for ourselves, and we’re going to make a difference in the world. But that scares some people. So tell those people that it means that everyone should just try to be the same. That way they’ll get out of your face. Be normal, it’s your disguise.
Discovered this amazing station on the metropolitain on my last day in Paris, March 2004.

From my original acrylic painting
This is actually a beige room, but it came out green and I love it! One of those ‘ooh look how that came out!’ moments!
Acrylic on canvas scanned, filtered & retouched on Photoshop.
Layer upon layer of bill-posters torn down from the walls of Bounds Green station.. Leaving a barely legible few letters intact.

The location for this shoot has to be one of my favorites, and quite possibly the reason why this series turned out to be so stylistic. Well, okay, maybe lexxy, (Alexandra Rodionova), did have something to do with why the shots look so incredible. heh. / Again, this is one of our spontaneous shoots where we just got out from in front of the puter with the goal to create art. Every once in a while when the shots turn out to have such potential I tend to take my time working on them. Like a fine wine each sip must be savored for all it’s worth. This is why it took me a year and a half to work on the entire set. And the great thing about this shoot is that a hand full of these ended up being full page advertisements for various products! / Hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoyed working on them! The T-Centralen subway station in Stockholm, Sweden. Stockholm’s Metro is said to be the longest art exhibition in the world at 110 km long. This image was featured in the Exhibition, For The Road, in Budapest, Hungary which highlights modern design from various European Cities.
Made while listening to Daft Punk. The underside of an overpass in Tokyo.
A carrot invaded my thought bubble… In need of motivation, a cartoon donkey licks his lips at the prospect of an oblong vegetable of orange colour.
Taken in New York subway , I like the couple in the middle, he had walked over to her and i think was trying his luck! / copyright LJA
Yup, that’s what we did!! Tuckaleechee Caverns at Townsend, Tenn is where we were. It was COLD down there too! / I am actually really pleased with this image as it is right out of my camera!! It was hard to get everything just right down there, bad lighting, moisture, dripping water….. Thank you for viewing my work!!! If you like what you see here, have a peek at the rest of my work. Influence of nature. Graceful curves. The wispy lines resambles branches and leaf motif on this piece. Enjoy it!
