This guy was pretty cool, sitting there minding his own business, and I just had to get the shot. But as I lifted the camera and looked through the lens he just broke into this mean stare into the lens like he was gonna hurt me. I saw it and quickly pressed the shutter. Later I complimented him on his tattoos and showed him the shot and it was then that his frown turned into a broad grin…phew!

We were vacationing in Iran and there were these mausoleums and tombs in tribute to great poets, architecture reminiscent of old Islam and gorgeous tiles and organic paintings on the walls. This shot was almost unintentional, I noticed the light and the shadows and just took the shot, this one shot. I didn’t even look at it on the digital screen of my camera, there was so much beauty around me I didn’t want to waste time, I didn’t want to miss anything. I didn’t see this shot again till I uploaded the pictures onto my laptop. This picture is a reminder of the beauty of Iran.

The Sea Venture was one of the first ships to arrive in Bermuda. It was thrown accidentally off course by a hurricane and landed on the reefs intact. Its original course was with a fleet from England headed towards / Jamestown, Virginia to aid in the colonization. From being shipwrecked, the crew and passengers of the Sea Venture settled in Bermuda and benefitted from its tropical paradise and set up a small colony. This painting is a Mixed Media piece, combining original digital photography taken in Bermuda by me SBC, with my painting, and drawings. It is intended to capture the natural and surreal beauty of Bermuda through my eyes. This art won an Honorable Mention Award in the Rowayton Art Show in 2006 and First Place in the Darien Art Show in 2007. It is presently being considered for exhibition at the Royal Navy Dockyard Museum in Bermuda. Thank you for your interest, comments and purchases!

2500+ views, 33 faves. This is one of my favourite shots taken on black and white film and taken in St Mark’s Square in Venice, Italy. I have scanned the print. I like the timelessness of this shot and the sense of innocence. She was surrounded by the pigeons at first and she didn’t mind. But later, one flew on her head and she minded a lot. I recently made a sale on redbubble with this shot. A matted print in Off White to Lucy, my sister-in-law, in the UK. Many thanks so much for purchasing this. While we were roadtripping through New England one of our first stops was in Essex, Connecticut. The season was fall and our intention was to take in the wonders of nature, enjoy the fall foilage. In Essex we bought tickets for the Essex Steam Train and Riverboat. When we got to the ticket counter it turned out that the train had been reserved for a private party and not open to the public on that day but since it was just the two of us ( my husband and I) they said they would give us a private car. If you still haven’t figured it out well the private car looked like what you see above. It had this antique feel about it, reminded me of a time when these trains were the means of tranportation, nothing like the trains we have today. And then every once in a while the steam train would let out a tut. It was enchanting. The blue of the chairs so cool, so lush, the sun streaming in. A perfect stop on what turned into a perfect trip. / Sitting the old Fashioned Way

/>I am a missionary born in Northern Ireland and living in London for the past 23 years. This photograph of Angelena was taken while at a Church service in, Nigeria. This was the first time i met her. She was sitting at the back of the church against the wall on a seat all alone. I used full zoom and took over 50 photographs of her. This is the only one that came out good. this was not a planned pose and I caught her like this without her knowing. she was quite a distance from me. I was sitting on the platform waiting to be called to speak. This young Girl inspired me so much. Her young life is an inspiration to me of how faith and hope can carry us through difficult times. Angelina is 12 years old . She is one of the children we have been caring for for the past three years. When we found her three years ago she was close to death and without Parents. Three years later she is loved and attends school. We can and do make a difference to children in extreme poverty and sick. All it takes is Love and a heart of compassion to sow a little time and money into a child’s life and you will see the transformation. Angelina was dying from malaria when we first saw her. Now she lives a full life. She says she wants to be a doctor and help others who are sick. God bless her and all who helped us in helping her. 100% of all proceeds from sales of my art ,donated art, and donations made via Philadelphia Mission Charity website, goes to help extreme poor in Isolated and Rural villages in Africa.
