No post-processing, just got lucky with a laser pointer.
My painting was featured in the Fine Arts group / (Thanks everyone!) Acrylic on Glass This is the third addition to my series “Journey Through Africa”, the other three include an African tree in a field, a giraffe in it’s habitat and a poison dart frog. This piece is of one of my favorite African birds, a Red Bishop. It’s colors and shape really attracted me to it in creating this work. / This piece like the other two in the series was also painted on an antique mirror. I take something old and forgotten and create something new, yet try to keep the aged or classic feel throughout the piece. / I really love the scroll work of these interesting mirrors teamed with an African theme. Usually just looking at a prospective mirror I see what I will paint next in it. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did in creating it! / I am currently working on another new piece in this series… Here are the other works in the series and framed: / / / You can contact Carrie at: carrie@carrieglennstudios.com and please visit Carrie Glenn Studios /

This is the third deviation in my “Dragon Series” shirts…enjoy! “Deuteronomy 28:13 says it all for this design. I saw it in a vision…a knight, a fighter of light riding a wave of fire but not touched by it. He was above it.” If you like this shirt, then check these out too / CarrieGlennStudios.Com / My Zazzle Gallery

There seams to be a prevailing misconception among people, including artists, that art is and should be a hobby not a business…

Another Watercolour for a challenge of Paint this Photo. If I have one regret in life is that time did not allow me to paint between starting to run my own household, raise kids and workfull time, and now! But now that I have a little more time, I am loving painting again. I do really wish I had kept it up, but as they say there is not time like the present. Here is the original photo by Lopin: / : ‘Eraldo di Paolo 300gsm Medium tooth paper. Variety of watercolour brands’ Plus I have now put together a Calendar of a few of my favourite works / :

Hi everyone, Well, we spent a long day in the studio today hanging paintings and it’s so satisfying to finally have this all done now. It feels great, more spacious and more like a real gallery. We’ve had the hanging system lying on the floor of the studio for well over a year now, and never got round to actually putting it up, so I thought I’d share a couple of pics with you guys!! I don’t think I’ve ever mentioned it before, but I have lots of original paintings for sale, if anyone is ever interested in the original work, give me a yell and we can talk turkey :) I have lots and lots that are unframed too and you can’t see ‘em here .. so let me know if you see something you like in my portfolio and would like the original

This is the second version of a painting I did of Pears on wrapping paper…I am dismantling my studio and packing it up to be renovated, but when I came across this paper, instead of packing it, I did the same sketch on it again…the paper ripples badly when wet (and they don’t go away), but give the most exciting special effects to the subject matter…I tinted the background with a light wash of transparent colour (you can barely see the chinese characters), then painted the pears in deeper tints of the same colour plus white…I like the results... Part of the Pear collection…Gouache on Wrapping Paper… / Heat / Night Pears
The Challenge…to see how many paintings I could create out of almost nothing while my studio is being renovated…this is matboard…I did say almost…it took black fountain pen ink, a kitchen knife and tea towel to create this scene...
“An abstract Tree from “The Empty Studio” series…warm yet undoubtedly wintry…painted negatively with fountain pen inks and dish soap on paper… / The challenge…to come up with paintings created from unusual materials, while my studio is being renovated…the collection is growing…see the others in the series below.. Through bare trees / I can be winter’s innocence, / unashamed needfulness, / the thin and reaching limbs / of a beggar, longing to touch / but the hem of the sun.” Lisa Lindsey, Bare Tree
The challenge…to come up with paintings created from unusual materials, while my studio is being renovated…the collection is growing…see below.. / “Young Man” is an ink wash off, using poster paint for the resist and fountain pen ink for the wash-off
