Even ‘though Incognita completely agreed with Inky that patriotism is the last refuge of scoundrels… she just COULDN’T make herself nationalistic. “Oh well” she decided, “I’ll probably find some other way to cause trouble…”
Daleks are a powerful race bent on universal conquest and domination, utterly without pity, compassion or remorse This took a while to do, but I think it has paid off.
I noticed a crystal beginning to form on a wick, so I put it under a U.V. spotlight and took some macros. The only manipulation of this shot is severe colour correction since U.V. shows as a reddish/purple hue on everything.

My first attempt at a T-Shirt design, I think it came out quite well! :D
Weekend T-Shirt Challenge – Agent Provocateur / Theme: Your vision of the future Myopia is an eye condition also called near- or short-sightedness. Those with myopia see nearby objects clearly but distant objects appear blurred. Sorry to be all doom and gloom, but I see myopia as a metaphor for the way we human animals see with little future foresight. When we look to science and it becomes so big and powerful that we see it first over nature as our path forward, then we begin to badly play at being gods. Then our future becomes most uncertain. Even one of greatest scientists Einstein conceded that humans needed a whole radically new form of thinking if we are to move forward and survive. And I tend to agree. The heart holds the capacity for compassion, nurturing and love. And we always look outside of ourselves. Pack your bags…the end is neigh!
Another in the fractured B Grade movie themes…this is a parody of the 1953 / 3D B-grade movie…Catwomen of the Moon. / Available as a poster, print, card and T.Shirt The storyline is roughly a race of stunning catwomen, the last of an ancient civilization plot to steal a spacecraft from an expedition from Earth….the party of guys think they’ve found paradise…..won’t tell you more but it’s a lot of fun with reviews ranging from highly imaginative, great fun with a box of popcorn to why did they bother…but I’m glad they did as it’s a hoot. / Image copyright © 2008 Shanina Conway. / Copying and displaying or redistribution of this image without permission from the artist is strictly prohibited. / if you enjoyed this work you might like / Lust in Space / Catwomen of Mars T-shirt /
Don’t have a t-shirt ready to celebrate Charles Darwin’s 200th birthday? Then get your special, exclusive limited-edition tshirt to wear for a whole year! Wear this and pay homage to the man who’s genius shed so much light on the darkness of ignorance. His grand notion was the gradual evolution over long periods of time by the natural selection of those varieties of an organism slightly better adapted to the environment (via random genetic mutation) and hence more likely to produce descendants. Combined with the discoveries of the cellular and molecular basis of genetics, Darwin’s theory of evolution has become the dominant unifying concept of modern biology. The explanatory power of Darwin’s idea has even caused geneticist and evolutionary biologist Theodosius Dobzhansky to remark “Nothing in biology makes sense except in the light of evolution”. For those interested, part of my design uses an image of Charles Darwin, printed as a satirical caricature in ‘The Hornet’ magazine in 1871. I thought it suitably ironic considering such common utterances of the time as “Descended from the apes? My dear, let us hope that it is not true, but if it is, let us pray that it does not become widely known” (wife of the Bishop of Worcester). FOR THE LOVE OF SCIENCE AND NATURAL HISTORY, I AM SELLING THIS TEE WITHOUT ANY MARKUP.
With the global economy caught in the gravity of the financial crisis, it’s sad that programs like the Constellation Project will have a long wait before anything truly gets off the ground. / / NASA’s Constellation Project is set up to finish the International Space Station, retire the Shuttle Fleet and build a whole new fleet of space vehicles which will take us back to the Moon, then Mars and then the places beyond. / / But with Congressional limitations and funding cutbacks due to the financial crisis, as well as being stuck with a complicated and restrictive “go as you pay” finance structure it’s unlikely we’ll be seeing any groundbreaking manned space flights in the naughties. / / This image represents a fleeting memory of a childhood dream to see man explore our planets and then the stars beyond and it’s one of the few things as a child I looked up to America for. / / The universe is a big place and we’re yet to make it out of our solar system but without programs like the Constellation Project, man may never ever get to make another giant leap. / / DETAIL / / / /
