Well this is a bit of an experiment with custom brushes and perspective, using Photoshop to just create whatever I wanted over the course of about a week. / Enjoy! =) Title inspired by ‘Keep Your Heart Broken’ by The Rasmus. “My love will grow black if your heart gets stolen / Just promise to keep your heart / One day I’ll come back if the door’s still open / Just promise to keep your heart broken / Forever and after my love / Just promise to keep your heart broken” Time Consumed: About ten hours, maybe a little less. / Tools: Photoshop and Wacom. This is my favorite photo of all! There is a wild red rose by my kitchen door. Late one afternoon, I was clipping tired blooms from the clusters; some clusters were hanging down. As I reached for this one to turn it over, a glimpse of gold flashed in the low sun. I looked again and discovered this tiny little frog napping in the heart of the bloom. I had only the negative and a small digital file from a scan, and it has taken me a month to get it into the appropriate high-resolution format where I can finally offer it for sale! Included in the mix are moulding paste for the eggs, gold and bronze paint, silver thread, fabric, charcoal, ink, pastel and acrylic with a gloss varnish over the eggs. / There is a poem in the background in gold cursive handwriting, which reads: Hidden Treasure Golden eggs are not always easy to find / Sometimes they lay hidden in the pockets of our seams / Sometimes we have to look beyond the obvious to see / the beauty in others~ traits of kindness, compassion, nurture and / gentleness are not always obvious at first glance and / what one may perceive as a fault or weakness / may actually be a great strength.
