I took this picture a couple of years ago at the beach of Marina di Grosseto, Tuscany, Italy. / This is a fine example I think of how a fisheye lens can completely change the feeling of an ordinary scene. The subject is simply some surf on the seashore, captured from a distance of not more than a foot. / The original picture is a Fuji Velvia 50 Iso medium format slide. The defensive Tower house of Smailholm, just over the Scottish border, near Kelso. The tower was built in the mid 1400’s at a time when lawlessness and violent bands of reivers, ravaged the lands both sides of the English-Scottish border. And a solitary white swan, resides below the Tower Even today, the landscape is lonely, and you can easily imagine the starkness of those dark days.

Three Panels, graduated colour ink with roll up. / / Original Art Work / Collagraph on BFK Rives 280gsm / 57.5×47cm This print was a product of a very long process of producing a suitable collagraphic plate, experimenting with colours and the gradations of them. Applying a roll up and printing. Finally I divided the original plate into three panels and incorporated all I had learnt before to produce the image above. / This image was a journey for me and it was certainly a journey I enjoyed taking. / / More of my Works /
