Romance depicting heroic or marvelous deeds, pageantry, romantic exploits etc Eilean Donan castle bathing in the early afternoon light _As one of the most iconic images of Scotland, Eilean Donan is recognised all around the world. Situated on an island at the point where three great sea lochs meet, and surrounded by some majestic scenery, it is little wonder that the castle is now one of the most important attractions in the Scottish highlands. Although first inhabited around the 6th century, the first fortified castle was built in the mid 13th century and stood guard over the lands of Kintail. Since then, at least four different versions of the castle have been built and re-built as the feudal history of Scotland unfolded through the centuries. Partially destroyed in a Jacobite uprising in 1719, Eilean Donan lay in ruins for the best part of 200 years until Lieutenant Colonel John MacRae-Gilstrap bought the island in 1911 and proceeded to restore the castle to its former glory. This photo was taken just south of Fraser Island in Queensland. With a 30 second exposure at f10 this gave the picture a fairly surreal feel about it.

This is not altered with software in any way.The seagulls were lining up in order to catch a piece of bread. You can actually see the piece on the right side of the picture! / It was difficult to get them in frame like I imagined but after many pieces of bread they were in perfect position. check what the product looks like here thank you for stopping by!

The doe took a little time off from busy eating for the photo opportunity, although she didn’t want to give up the tasty colorful leaf. By now everyone who has ever seen my work knows that I’m absolutely “addicted” to develop a deep relationship and establish an intimate communication with mule deer (we don’t have a lot of white-tailed deer around here). Everyday I go out there in the early mornings, hoping to have a close encounter! :) Donation to charity / 50% of the proceeds of the sale of this image will be donated to Nature Canada

I’m up to my old tricks again! I’m now truly hooked on the Forgotten Postcard concept. I went digging through my old photos today to find some that I wasn’t altogether happy with to see what could be done. Venice is one of those timeless, European cities. I haven’t had the best of luck photographing it as both times I’ve been there the weather has been horrid. This particular shot was pretty drab and boring. Hopefully it’s a bit more interesting now :)
