I also have the privilege of capturing not only hunger, sickness and often death, but the more happy occassions. This is Grace, and when I first met Grace in April 2007, she was suffering from Chronic Malnutrition. This was taken in December 2007, and the difference is wonderful. This guy was pretty cool, sitting there minding his own business, and I just had to get the shot. But as I lifted the camera and looked through the lens he just broke into this mean stare into the lens like he was gonna hurt me. I saw it and quickly pressed the shutter. Later I complimented him on his tattoos and showed him the shot and it was then that his frown turned into a broad grin…phew!

This is an image from a series I shot of one of my favortie models Jessamyn. I tend to shoot Jessamyn in different styles of modelling including fashion as we have become so used to working with each other, even though she lives on the other side of Australia from me. This is my personal favorite portrait shot of Jessamyn.

my sister at her wedding (23.6.07)… / To achieve the soft focus on this photo I add a guassian blur to one of the channels (can’t remember which one), changed to sepia and then added a ‘soft light’ blending layer also a little dodging and burning… v. simple!

Meet Mr. Jackson, Spends most evenings in the local bar playing ACDC and KISS from a nearby juke box. Prefers Budweiser on tap…or anything if your buying. Loves his woman soft and hairy and on all fours. And although Mr. Jackson looks tough…he really is a puppy at heart…just don’t piss him off, as he does suffer from a slight disorder of bipolar. /
