Hi All!! Just a quick note to say that I am making my way through my huge list of favourite’s at the moment, buying your pieces of works as either cards/tees/prints. I’ve noticed some have been deleted or removed at some point or another (which I have done myself in my own portfolio previously). Is a pity, cos I hadn’t yet gotten to purchase that fave piece of yours!! So I just thought I’d say a “HANG ON A MINUTE GUYS!” before deciding that a piece of work you’ve perhaps had little or no sales from, gets deleted from your portfolio. Some of us have just taken awhile to get our butts into gear. Especially me, with low income ATM. I figure if I can spend a few bucks a fortnight buying wonderful works, then before I know it I’ll have a wonderful little collection that I slowly but surely built, all the while supporting my fellow friends/artists around me. Perhaps this is something you yourself should think about to??? It’s all about supporting one another here at RB, don’t you think??? Anyway, love to see all the new works popping up, especially from OS. Have a great day Kids!!! Bel xxx

After reading this interesting journal entrance (yeah, give me back my journal! hehehe): Interesting Journal Entrance / Click Me! I decided it was time to arrange and put some order in my portfolio. I deleted a lot of test renders and stuff that wasn’t that good. Now I feel it is acquiring a more “professional” aspect, though I’m not done with it. I’m still leaving some minor tests and pictures that I thought were crucial to understand the origins of some pictures (and because maybe one day some may find it interesting) and I’m way too lazy to make heaps of journal entrances. I might re-render some works too at an even higher resolution as soon as I get a new computer (which I hope will be by Christmas… I HOPE) Seems like today it was the “Clean Up” day! Everyone pick the vacuum cleaners!

Just wanted to thank you all for the comments. Please don’t be offended if I don’t comment after I post a photograph, because I use the comments as way to sort my photographs. If I respond to every comment, that increases the comment count. I kind of use this as a guide to rank the photograph. If the photograph has no sales, no comments, no favorites, and very little views, it has a very good chance of being deleted. Unless I think you are all crazy of course! =) I will respond though if someone asks a question in their comment via bubblemail. Thanks again for all the great comments! You all are really great inspirations! Charles

Well I’ve done it. I’ve taken all my photographs off from my portfolio that are not bark or rocks. I’ve left all the associated groups as well. I’m taking the plunge and just going to focus on my rockscapes and barkscapes. They are my passion and what I love to photograph the most. Its what I think about all the time. My next adventure and treasure hunt to find a nice big rock face to explore and see what Mother Nature has left for me to discover. When I see a grove of Paperbark Trees, I can’t wait to stop the car and find what they have to offer. So many hidden landscapes and abstact designs just waiting for me! / UPDATE: Jan 08 – OK, so that didn’t last LOL! Just have to put back some of my macro flowers, I really do love them too! :O)

Lets start to get to know our Redbubble friends a bit more. / I asked a few questions to Jo O’Brien cause she is an amazing person. / She came up with an idea she shared with me and I interviewed a few members. Feel free to take these questions and ask some people that inspire or intrigue you and post them in your journal. Also feel free to check out her Portfolio….... Jo O’Brien How does being a creative person and pursuing your creativity affect other aspects of your life? I’ve started making origami out of toilet paper. When buying paint, I choose “Easton Ellis” red because of the name. My real estate agent came over to inspect the house and left with armfuls of redbubble cards and my encouragement to take up singing again. I have no money but piles of stuff that I plan to use for a photo shoot ‘one day.’ The creativity has invaded every last inch of my life, and is starting to spread to the lives around me. Better not let me breath on you. You might catch it. Tell us about one person or moment that has made your time on redbubble particularly special or meaningful? Being offered a job with redbubble has been a ‘quality of life’ changing experience. I was at a point where my photography, day job doing gallery work, and redbubble didn’t fit into 24 hours. Something had to give, but instead, I’ve been able to merge them all together and now spend every day in an exciting and challenging environment doing what I love. Show & tell us about five works on redbubble that have moved or inspired you? / My Greatest Love by tonilouise This work plunged me into a bout of nostalgia that was promptly followed by polaroid cameras, photos of children and revisiting places I’d neglected for years. Each Time We Touch… by Shall Reading this, every syllable made perfect sense. It was as though I could have been writing it myself and I was overwhelmed with this feeling that someone out there felt things the same way I did. / Concealed Hurt by Elvina-Mae Farkas After seeing the lighting in this work, I spent weeks experimenting with every lamp, window and candle I owned. The result being some of my favorite self portraiture taken in my home. Tales of the GGB #36 by juliejulie A beautifully crafted story that reminded me of so many things in the best and worse ways. / Her Charm is Fleeting by AKAtokyo As someone who has always struggled with drawing faces, this immediately appealed to me. After seeing this, my drawings became faceless and I decided that I liked it that way. Where do you feel your creativity comes from what are some things that motivate you? Mud, water and fire were the most available toys as children. Boredom resulted in performances for the neighbors and Mum would help us cut and paste our own board games. I can’t recall many of the toys I owned but I have numerous memories of Mum saying “entertain yourself.” Usually followed by fun adventures, new cubby houses, games with evolving rules and plenty of neighborhood friends to be audience members. If I wasn’t creative by then, I learned it by necessity. Now my art is motivated by human reaction. The moment that terrifies you, or awakenings you, or makes you embarrassed to be human. I play with bodies and instinctive reactions and petition others to do the same. I can only hope that by confronting everything I have ever hated or feared, I will become someone better and will be proud of myself. Name 3 artists that totally inspire you and have a great respect for? Gregory Crewdson / Harmony Nicholas / Chuck Palahniuk

I like to move my images around in my portfolio. I sometimes will bring some of my work that I have posted months ago to the front page. This is easy to do by using the ‘Art’ tab which will display all your images in a list. One the far right hand side of the page are 4 blue arrow controls: 1st Arrow: when clicked will move that image to the very top of the list on the first page. 2nd Arrow: when clicked will move that image up one position at a time towards the top of the list. 3rd Arrow: when clicked will move that image down one position at a time towards the bottom of the list. 4th Arrow: when clicked will move that image to the very bottom of the list on the last page. Now heres the deal… when using the 2nd and 3rd arrow it is quit a slow process as the page refreshes each time to show you the new position of the image and you then have to move the cursor up or down to the new position of the arrow and click again….. / This is what I have discovered, if you carefully keep the cursor on the arrow and very quickly click the left mouse button, when you stop and the page refreshes it will have moved the image the number of times you have clicked the mouse…...

I don’t know about you but I would very cheerfully not have had the new Overview tweak to RB if it meant some other really, really, really aggravating problems got fixed. / Chief among these for me is the unbelievably cumbersome way for ordering your artwork in your portfolio – clicking on those bloody arrows with the page re-setting between each click so to move ANYTHING from your first page to anywhere else takes forever and gives you serious RSI. / So I’ve created a request for a feature where there is simply a checkbox under each of your pictures in the “art” tab and you write the number for where you want it to be eg. 1 for first pic, 20 for 20th pic. You then click “update” and your portfolio reconfigures accordingly. / Also I’ve requested a “recent” or “chronological” button to appear when you visit one of your favourite watchlist contacts so that their display reconfigures to chronological order when you click it. That way you can easily locate their most recent pics that you may have missed commenting on. ANYWAY THE NUMBER OF PEOPLE VOTING IN SUPPORT OF A FEATURE PUSHES IT UP THE RB WORK QUEUE SO IF YOU WOULD LIKE THESE FEATURES PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE VOTE IN SUPPORT OF THEM BY CLICKING HERE Thank you kindly / Geoff
