Wow and WooHoo! I wake up this morning to find even more fantastic changes to RedBubble, and was blown away to find my photo of “Gandalf in the Garden” on Page five in the new Popular Gallery, “The Eyes Have It” and “Reflections” both on page six and “Sand Dunes near South Mole Lighthouse” on page nine, “Elemental Power” (my favourite shot of the Albany Wind farm) on page ten. What a boost to my fragile artist’s ego:) Oh happy day!

Not me, the site Redbubble is beginning to feel “busy”. Comments, features and Bubblemail are starting to increase. People are learning how to work the site. Neighbors are saying hi to each other. Fine art is pouring in. Happy artists are glad to have another venue to share their work. Artists talking about art. It may not get much better than that for us folks who are compelled to create something and share it with others. Enjoy. On another note, I myself have a lot of work up here and Redbubble says it should be your best work. I’m torn as to whether I should keep the number of pieces around a hundred in my gallery. I think the quality is fairly high on all my work but very few people go through all of a persons gallery, and then there is Fave fatigue where you realize you just can’t fave everything you like. So I ask you all should I keep the count low or keep building it up? There is not an easy answer, the stuff I have sold has not been the most popular, and some of my most popular works at other sites has not gotten as much attention here at Redbubble. A few of you have got to be realizing this same thing, what do you think?

RedBubble was Hitwise Number 1 Award winner for the quarter ending ending April – June 2008. During this period RedBubble was No. 1 based on market share of visits among all Australian websites in the Hitwise Entertainment – Arts industry. Not a bad achievement in a little over a year. And Australia represents less than one third of our total traffic. To learn more about Hitwise and the Top 10 awards click here.

The new form of Challenges being put in place now allows anyone to vote on an entry, not just those in the Group. This will allow us more exposure, but it will also allow us to vote for our friends, if we’re inclined that way, which makes the Challenges potential Popularity / contests instead of Art Challenges. / Most of us have left this behind in school, but we are still human, and adults can carry this tendancy over. As for me, I will still only vote for the Art that I think is most skillful and most attractive. If I vote for a friend’s art, then be assured I’m voting for the Art, and that I consider it to be outstanding. / -=Dayonda

Wow, I just noticed that my macro photograph WAVE has had over 1,429 views. Taken from the bark of an Australian Paperbark Tree, the beautiful shades of blue just popped out after adjusting the contrast. I find taking photos late in the afternoon in the shade seems to accentuate the blue tonal range. I think perhaps one of my fave photos from my portfolio. Perhaps its time to start deleting some of my older photos. Hopefully my work is improving somewhat and there are a few oldies there, that I think, mmmm…”not so great, what was I thinking”.....LOL! What’s your most popular image, and how many views have you had on it?

Am I the only one who doesn’t just look at featured art / people, look at the art section of groups, not just featured art that has already had all the attention and love it deserves. Or doesn’t. / Look at the art in the community that someone has just put up. / It’s not a good feeling when my art has been featured in a group and still, no comments no favorites, not even any views. I feel like I put my pictures in so many groups but no one ever even sees them. / I like my pictures… I guess I’m the only one, most of the time. / What happened? / People who added me to their watchlist never comment/fav either. I add people to my watchlist for a reason. edit 13 people have viewed this journal entry since I posted it WHO ARE YOU PEOPLE / why are you looking at my journals and not my photos
