Enjoying two splendid weeks off work. Getting so much art practice in…I guess this is the life I am aspiring to…Wake up, have a decent breakfast, shower and dress, jump on computer, check emails and bit of work online, paint til 1pm…head out of studio for lunch with mates in the sun…mmmm, prawn linguine today, then head home, work til 5pm, put on a load of washing, read a while, dinner, chill, head to bed…aahhh lovely! / Well, two more blissful days and the party is over…back to work, framing and contemplating other artist’s work in my job as a conservation picture framer, not bad, I guess. / If only I had more time to pursue my passion…and a phtoshop course, and returning to uni to complete my art degree…oh dear!

Attack!!! is one of the largest I’ve created thus far, in the image there is an attacking character, shown by the blue sections of the work, it almost looks like there is wings on his back aiding in his movement, there is a sword ready to be pulled out strapped to his, the red in behind him is the battle and the angled lines add to the overall movement and speed of the character.

Hi there my dear RedBubble friends! If anyone would like to see what can be done with Photoshop, have a look at my video on youtube: Derivatix and friends I only chose images where the result fits perfectly (or almost perfectly) the original. E.g. you will see the source and with blendover it changes to the result. Of course there are much greater things to do using Photoshop (have a look at the groups here) but for this time I thought it was fun to work with blendover. Hope you like it! The first 2 minutes is my stuff (up to the wooden doll on the stick) after that (starting with the book turning in the Lord of Rings) you can see some of my favorites from other artists. Enjoy! / Gabriella

The 3rd Annual Crestock Photoshop Contest has come to a close with the 4th and final round, although there is still time to vote on Round 4! I really enjoyed participating in this contest – I had a blast and most importantly, I learned so much! Don’t miss out on the next contest! This is my official entry: I’ve Got Something To Say This work is an extension of my original piece, Something To Say...I created this piece exclusively for the contest on Crestock.com using all five of the stock photos that they provided to us: a giant tree with no leaves (that was not easy to extract!), an electric guitar body, an old fashioned telephone, the torso of a man with arm extended holding a seedling and a woman’s body from the curve of the buttocks to the upper back (I used that photo obscurely as a mandala behind the guitar mandala)...If you like this piece and were so inclined to click the link, below, and join Crestock.com (a site devoted to creative stock images), you would then be eligible to vote for my piece. It would only take a few minutes and you would then be all set to upload and sell or purchase quality stock photos on the site, plus, you would be helping me, a fellow red bubbler, to at least get noticed by the judges... / Because this image is part of a contest and is using copyrighted stock photos, it will not be available for sale on this site… / Thank you for you time, / Allison :-) Click here to view the stock images that were used in this contest – scroll down the page to view Round 4 Photos Click here to view the FULL SIZE/HIGH RESOLUTION version – once you get to the full size image, clicking on it will take you to high resolution image Click here to quickly and painlessly sign up for Crestock.com Click here to vote for me on Crestock.com :-)

  • The Cloud, Photoshop and you?
    by Faith Hunter

Has anyone else had a chance to play around with Adobe Photoshop Express in the Cloud..

Has anyone else had a chance to play around with Adobe Photoshop Express in the Cloud yet? I’m struggling at the moment to find time to do all the things I need to get done and this is depressing me because it means I haven’t found the time to install the upgrade to Adobe CS3 my husband recently bought home from a trip to Bangkok. (...ahem….) We’ve been playing around looking at virtual machines in the Cloud lately and it suddenly occured to me that maybe I don’t need to install the upgrade. Maybe I can find Photoshop in the Cloud? A quick search confirms that a beta version of a cutdown version is indeed there, called Adobe Photoshop Express. it doesn’t really seem suited to the needs of serious photographers, but I could be wrong? Just before I launch myself into another pleasant, but not-terribly-focused exploration, it occurs to me that maybe I should concentrate on getting those things done that I’m supposed to be doing. But maybe someone else has had time to have a look? Or are there other great applications for photgraphers or artists in the Cloud? Have you found any? Any comments? I’d love to hear what people have found and are able to do there. And as always, there is a down side

A big, THANK YOU, to the Domestic Art—Home is Where the Heart Is Group for featuring Colorful Keyboard today. Ashley, my daughter, composed the image, and only just took the picture and did the Photoshop editing yesterday evening so that’s what I call, instant gratification, lol. She will be thrilled by the recognition for this piece. I also want to add what a great group this is to belong to. We can’t always get away to photograph the unusual or the exotic so it’s great to know that ones’ own surroundings can be the basis for creativity and to have a group where those efforts can be appreciated. I’ve certainly seen some amazing images composed with the common everyday item as the subject matter and suddenly the things I’ve taken for granted around home have taken on a brand new perspective. We look forward to continued enjoyment and participation in this group in the future. Thank you again from both of us. Pat and Ashley.

I hope you don’t all think I’m being very cheeky but it just occurred to me that was the perfect place to ask… and you can all say ‘no’, although just one ‘yes’ would be great! Does anyone have any photo software they can spare? / I would love to be able to play with my photo images, add/delete, insert scripture etc., perhaps poduce some fancy artwork… but I cannot afford the software. / I believe Photoshop 6 (or is it Paintshop 6?) is popular with artists and card producers on RB. / I just wondered that if someone has updated their software recently they might have a previous version to spare. If anyone can help me out, please let me know what you have and how much you are asking (inc P&P) / Love and prayers for you all. God bless.

I sit back and look at a lot of photos. I wonder, if it wasn’t for photoshop would so many actually be online and selling. Its good to edit, but I think a lot of people actually forgot about the meaning of photography. To capture ORIGINAL. I don’t see much of it anymore do you ?

Thanks so much for the feature in PixElations – The Art of Photoshop…..I have just begun to explore the possibilties of this fascinating software within the past year or so (and I am completely self taught) so this one means a lot. I am fascinated by the work I have seen in this group, and I am honored to be recognized among them.

Hey everyone, or I guess I should say anybody who actually reads this stuff. I just wanted to keep on trying to get my name out here. I am appreciative of all the nice comments that people have been leaving, but the whole reason I signed up on here was a way to make a some cash on the side. I’m not trying to pressure anyone, I’m just hoping that there’s someone on here that might wanna get sone of my stuff. As well as being an artist I’m also a decent writer( having to write and draw all my graphic novels on my own):Also I am completely open to commissions, so if there’s something you’d like to have me do. And don’t think I’ll just do it in my graffiti/cartoonish style. I am a well rounded artist, If you can think of it I can do it, hell that should just be my own little motto. I can do pretty much anything you’re looking for so just drop me a line an I’ll get it done as quickly(and professionally as I can. Please help out a starving artist, the thanks you get in return will be almost as soon as the pic is done. Thanks for listening and I hope to hear from some of you soon. -WOOKiE

My latest work is a combo of Photoshop and Illustrator with sections of the piece such as the readouts pics and designs done with Illustrator. The rest including the blur and zoom effect as well as converting the backdrop to an image was with Photoshop. I love wide aspect ratio work as it looks more cinema quality so I think I might do a couple more works in that format than expand to dual format, landscape and portrait works. Just to note my other piece featuring the car was replaced with the newest piece ‘UFO Incoming’. Id like to do more space pieces in the future so that is definitely on my list to do more pieces towards that theme. Id appreciate any comments on my artworks as Id be very appreciative of the feedback. There are some extra pieces at my website which are framed and in a4 format if you would like to peruse them at your own time. The site is: www.mydigitalage.com / My Facebook is: White Cosmos then just go ‘add’ if you like. Mr Digital
