Ian Rilen was a legendary Sydney rock and roller and a member of bands such as Rose Tattoo, X and Sardine V. He died earlier this year and is much missed for his wild and wonderful ways. I found this candid back stage shot of him and his then wife Stephanie preparing to go onstage at the Trade Union Club in Sydney’s Surry Hills way way back in the early 80’s. They were in Sardine V at that time and when I look at this shot now the eighties rush back. Oh my misspent youth. :) So Vale Ian Rilen, I so hope things are rocking were ever you are. This shot is for you.

The guys from Wardan Aboriginal Centre and the Noyt Kobori Spirit Dancers really put on a wonderful traditional performance for us at the Busselton Beach Festival…. the music and dance was spectacular and fascinating to see. The amazing part was how many children from the audience got up to dance as well, given the fact that judging by this face, it might have been a little “scary”!!!! Thank you “David”! I used my Canon 5D Mk II with the 24-105mm lens, hand held, at f/14, for 1.5”, whilst following these people to the Convention Centre.

Michael Jackson. The jacket was done in watercolour pencil (yes every dot was done individually!) and graphite pencil. One of only 3 originals in the world!! I decided to bring out a series, every set a different fashion stage in the world of Michael Jackson. This has worked perfectly after many hours of grafting.
