The second in a Series of Oriental Work….I hope you’re enjoying this change of pace. Ink and Gouache on Rice Paper…. Part of the Series of Oriental Brush Paintings… Ink and Watercolour on Rice Paper. The northern mountain is blanked in cloud; / for one who hides away, it’s pleasing — perfect. So that we could visit each other, I’ve tried to climb high; / my heart follows along, like a wild goose, to exhaustion. I worry because of the thin dusk that comes up, / but the clear autumn prevails and you can feel it. It’s the hour to see village people returning; / they walk on the sand, rest at the ferry landing. At the edge of the sky, the trees look like grass; / Near the river bank is an islet shaped like the moon. How welcome if you met me with some wine! / We’d share, intoxicated together through the autumn festival. Meng Haoran The years that pass / Have brought with them / White hair. / Autumn has come / And the trees stand / Bare and cold. Perplexed, / I ask the yellow leavers: / “Are you too, sad? / What griefs have you / That you / Are sere and old? Lu Lun

/ / / ’’Asian Series’ card by Karin Taylor Tang Court Trio came about through my research on the history and culture of the Chinese people. During the Tang period in China, art, literature and music flourished, and female musicians were in abundance. I find their traditional garments beautiful, artworks in themselves.

’’Asian Series’ card by Karin Taylor This is one of my favourite pieces in the oriental series. / Two little friends falling asleep in their little boats whilst fishing for their supper. / I really enjoyed mixing the colours for this painting, I used colour swatches from paint charts to decide on the colour scheme, and just went to work intuitively mixing til I got the right colours…they are grungier than my other pics and I love the effect…hope you like them too :D

/ Shoes available at Zazzle Little ‘Asia Blue’ is from an original painting by Karin Taylor. She goes great with a pair of faded Levis. I have her on a black tshirt under the name ‘Little Kimino Blue’ but she isn’t actually wearing a kimono, although she wears an obi…...Asia Blue is wearing a mixed costume, half chinese half japanese…...so I will just call her ‘Asia Blue’ for ease ….as there has been quite a bit of confusion over this :) I wanted to have ‘Asia Blue’ on other coloured tshirts, as well as the black, so here she is, more coming soon !
