A lone diner at an exclusive restaurant, captured on New York’s Central Park South. Nominated by the brilliant and gracious photographer Nick Board for Red Bubble’s Pay It Forward Group, who wrote, “Judith chronicles brilliantly, the life and times of New York City, mainly in Black and White, but my absolute favourite has to be, “Reservation for One”. We were vacationing in Iran and there were these mausoleums and tombs in tribute to great poets, architecture reminiscent of old Islam and gorgeous tiles and organic paintings on the walls. This shot was almost unintentional, I noticed the light and the shadows and just took the shot, this one shot. I didn’t even look at it on the digital screen of my camera, there was so much beauty around me I didn’t want to waste time, I didn’t want to miss anything. I didn’t see this shot again till I uploaded the pictures onto my laptop. This picture is a reminder of the beauty of Iran.

The sunlight through the petals and leaves looked lovely against the backdrop of the snow outside. Our short days make sunshine seem all the more precious, even indoors. But as the tree grew to maturity its flowers were mediocre and its fruit had a bad odour and tasted vile. 1015 views as of Dec 8, 2009 / / I was down at Okanagan beach this afternoon taking some photographs when I noticed the reflection of some tree tops with the light shining through them in this puddle. Thought it looked almost like the leaves in the puddle were falling onto the trees…..seemed kind of magical to me :)
