  • ORIGINAL FOR SALE $650 plus P&H Shimmering irridescent dragonflies hover over rich red Waratahs. This is a dreaming mandala – specifically for meditation and contemplation. Its very simplicity is its power - if only we could remember that! We can circle our viewpoint and change direction at will. Never stuck, never immobile – no problem is too great if we simply shift our perspective.

  • Wallflower / Available as a framed print, canvas print, mounted print and card Wallflower is a continuation of my experiment trying to achieve stained watercolour effect. / I owe some inspiration to Mucha’s flowery illustration style. / Wallflower is much richer as Mucha used soft colours, but with my love for rich colours and as the Wallflower’s feelings are intense, I had to go with the strong;) Image copyright © 2008 Shanina Conway. / Copying and displaying or redistribution of this image without permission from the artist is strictly prohibited.

  • Born into one of New Orleans’ oldest and most venerable families, Eugenia Planchette was no ordinary Southern belle. No matter how many governesses informed her that methodically dissecting crawdaddies and baby alligators was NOT ladylike behavior, little Eugenia would not be deterred. Despite her indelicate hobbies, Eugenia grew up to be an uncommonly fetching young lady, so if she was a trifle vain, who could blame her? She was certainly at no loss for suitors when she took up her studies at Tulane (medical school, of course), and her grades seemed impervious to her habit of dancing the nights away in the French Quarters’ most notorious nightclubs. Perhaps it was at one of these that she inadvertently insulted a voodoo priestess or just irked one of her more chemistry-minded classmates, but someone spiked her absinthe with something that caused an inexorable descent into madness. As far as the good doctors could tell, she became convinced that the best way to preserve her youthful appearance would be to remove her face and keep it in the icebox, only to be used when she really “needed” it, and apparently that is exactly what she did. Although the results would have made her a useful instructable for an anatomy class and certainly a pertinent case study in psychiatry, her surgical adventure, needless to say, ended her medical career. What Eugenia lacked in practicality she made up for in execution, however, and in truth the Face (as it came to be called) held up quite well. Eugenia and her removable face are pictured here in her parlor while her astonished cat, Poutine, looks on. This original artwork and story are copyright Ramona Szczerba 2008. • The Grace Hotel is in York Street, Sydney. It was built in 1930 in the Neo Gothic style, was renovated to be a landmark hotel, and is Heritage Listed. I shot it on Sunday, 18 January 2009, at around 7.30am, from across the street. The rising sun was directly in front. The sky was shot from my front balcony on Friday, 16 January 2009, at around 6.30am. The 2 images were then merged in Photoshop CS2. On both occasions I used my Canon EOS 5D Mark II, handheld, and Canon EF 24-70mm f2.8L zoom lens. The building, which I have been wanting to shoot for a long time, was shot at 51mm, ISO 50 (for the detail), 1/100 sec at f4, in Monochrome, on the way home from another shoot. The conditions were perfect and the sky was clear. The sky was shot at 24mm, ISO 160, 1/4000 sec at f3.2, also in Monochrome. Featured by the Sydney Group 21 October 2009 Best viewed large

  • My first attempt at creating an Art Nouveau print in the syle of Alfons Mucha. Produced using Painter X from a composite created in Photoshop. Model courtesy of mizzd-stock

  • Second attempt at an Art Nouveau print . Produced using Painter X from a 62 layer composite created in Photoshop. Model courtesy of mizzd-stock

  • Art Nouveau again. Produced in Painter X. This has taken rather a long while to do as I seem to be suffering from a creative block at the minute probably due to the stress my Mother In Law’s illness over the last few months. I’ve finally completed it about four weeks after I started. Model courtesy of mizzd-stock

  • From an original 2009 mixed media painting by Stephen Mitchell. Original for sale from londonart

  • Women in most ancient and modern cultures and major religions are considered “life-givers”. Here, a beautiful young woman is portrayed just as she teeters on the brink between innocence and her destiny, as “Life – Giver”. Suggestions: Friendship, Thinking of You, or Mother to Be Note Card. This is also beautiful, framed. Thanks to the beautiful model, Ilana Lu. • Art Nouveau/Fantasy art. Ink, watercolor and acrylics on Bristol Board.

  • The third artwork in my new ICON series – A serene and wise-looking rabbit in shades of green, gold and white. The original artwork measures 11×15” and is rendered with oil pastels, woodless colored pencils, art pens, metallic paint pens, 18K gold leafing pen, and embellished with colored foil. I used a heavy textured Strathmore Artist paper (dark green).

  • Fourth artwork in my animal ICON series. Original artwork measures 11×15”. Mixed media: Oil pastels, colored pencils, art pens, metallic paint pens, and metallic foil embellishments on textured dark purple watercolor paper.

  • Fifth artwork in my animal ICON series. Mixed media: oil pastels, colored pencils, art pens, markers, metallic paint pens Original artwork is 11×15” on yellow watercolor paper. Original sold 2009

  • First artwork in a new series I am working on inspired by the book Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. In this iconic image, a beautiful but dangerous Queen of Hearts as femme fatale draws her finger across her throat to signify her threatening intentions. “The Queen had only one way of settling all difficulties, great or small. ‘Off with his head!’ she said, without even looking round.” / -Lewis Carroll, “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland “ Original artwork measures 19×25 inches, mixed media on gray Strathmore watercolor paper. This artwork took about twelve hours to complete over a two-day period. View more of my artwork at http://www.lynnetteshelley.com

  • Drew this for a self-portrait contest. This is also my first ever self-portrait, beyond a couple of exercises in art classes when I was younger. I obviously took some liberties here ;) I didn’t get some aspects of the portrait quite right (the nose and the chin are not quite right for example, and I have a much paler skin tone), but this is perhaps how I would look in another reality ;) Mixed media on heavy textured purple watercolor paper (Canson). Original measures 19×12.5” Featured on the Home Page. September 5th 2009. View more of my artwork at www.lynnetteshelley.com

  • Sixth artwork in my new Wonderland series, based off of Lewis Carroll’s “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland” ”`Well!’ thought Alice to herself, `after such a fall as this, I shall think nothing of tumbling down stairs! How brave they’ll all think me at home! Why, I wouldn’t say anything about it, even if I fell off the top of the house!’ (Which was very likely true.) – “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland” Original artwork measures approx. 12.5×19” and was created with oil pastels, colored pencils, metaliic silver pens, and marker. This is a scan of the image, so you can’t see the silver highlights on this piece (they look gray in the scan) through Alice’s hair and dress. View more of my artwork at www.lynnetteshelley.com

  • Seventh artwork in my animal ICON series. Original artwork measures 11×14 inches, mixed media (oil pastels, colored pencils, gold paint pen, black marker) on blue canson paper. View more of my artwork at http://www.lynnetteshelley.com
