The “Conversation Piece” consists of 22 copper-bronze statues near The Groyne lighthouse at Littlehaven Beach, South Shields. Designed by Spanish artist Juan Munoz they have been a talking point for the last few years. Oddly, from a distance you can never be sure who is talking to who – human or statue!

The doe took a little time off from busy eating for the photo opportunity, although she didn’t want to give up the tasty colorful leaf. By now everyone who has ever seen my work knows that I’m absolutely “addicted” to develop a deep relationship and establish an intimate communication with mule deer (we don’t have a lot of white-tailed deer around here). North Cheyenne Canyon is one of the canyons within Cheyenne Mountain. It is just south of Colorado Springs, Co. Cheyenne Mountain is the home of what was called NORAD (North American Air Defense Command.) It is supposedly where the Star Gate was in the long running series Star Gate SG-1. They often showed the entrance to the mountain on that program.

Here on Maui, we have a neighbor who decided to build a fence out of old surfboards. Well, now there are 600+ surfboards surrounding the property and the number grows daily as folks simply deposit their old hardware onto the property without giving it a second thought. I took this from the road using my Fujifilm 6×17 film camera (for sale now!) This fence has recently made international news and is a “Mecca” for all tourists to photograph.

One of my piece of art. This is a snow carving that I made myself in February 2006. It was at the Yukon Sourdough Rendez-vous. She was about 7 feet high to give you an idea. / / It took me 26 hours of consecutive work (no sleep) with a few breaks along the way to warm my toes up… (it was pretty near -40 degrees Celscius below that night. But I was dressed pretty well.) I called her Into The Light because I finished sculpting her when the sun came and shined on her from above the building that was standing in front of her. It was 12(noon) at the time.. I had started to carve her the day before at 10 am. She has her hands open to the sky, for she is as ready to give herself, as ready to receive from the creator.

The Angel of the North one of the most photographed works of public art n the north of England if not the country as a whole. I felt it required a fresh view and as Easter was fast approaching and the word Angel being Hebrew for messenger I thought an artistic take would be to re-create the crucifixion scene for a modern day audience.
