HDR image of a Steinway Piano at a friends’ home. She’s quite an accomplished artist herself, she painted the images behind the piano in Tuscany Italy. I’m looking for a good title for this image, this piano hasn’t been played in years. If you can think of a title that jumps out at you, I’d appreciate you posting it for me. Thanks. On this particular Sunday we (my family) decided to play tourist in our home town. Late afternoon we decided to explore a few parks in and around North Sydney. In the end we ended up at Sydneys famous Luna Park. Oil Pastel and Acrylic on old wood with slight digital enhancements Ophelia, puzzled by the radical transformation that had taken place overnight to this butterfly friend of hers, thought to herself, “She was in a white thread-like casing yesterday, how did all that happen so fast? There must be something magical about that case!” This is inspired by a book Hope For The Flowers by Trina Paulus. This is a cute and yet thought provoking story about two caterpillars who because they mistake the meaning of their urge to get high, get entangled climbing a horrible “caterpillar pillar”. And for two caterpillars, we all know, surrendering to the cocoon is the only way to finally fly. Hope For the Flowers is a book that celebrates HOPE. My fave lines from the book is “How does one become a butterfly?” She asked pensively. “You must want to fly so much that you are willing to give up being a caterpillar.” We are all meant to be as beautiful and free like the butterflies, that’s our destiny…as we free ourselves to be who we really are…and together with our innate talents,we bring hope to the world around us, bringing change inevitably around us :D / You can view and buy my other “Metamorphosis” creations from my Zazzle Gallery:

Oil Pastel And Acrylic (With minor digital enhancements) Here’s Ophelia all dressed up for a party that she’s hosting! A party that celebrates all that life has to offer,both the good and not so good :D She’s wearing her new flower feather clips and a ribbon belt to adorn her waist. All who read this will be invited! A belief that Life is to be celebrated, not just the ups but the downs too. It is easier to give thanks and rejoice when things go well for us but can we still do the same when things dont turn out the way we want them to? In dry or in bountiful times, I keep reminding myself to count my blessings…to adopt the mindset of abundance and not of scacity. / In my goal to portray women in all guises and emotions, here is the latetst addition to the collection..”The Temptation”....we all know what the feeling…temptation comes in many disguises…is she the temptress, or has she been tempted?make of her what you will… / When I was halfway through painting it, I remembered a picture I had seen in a magazine advertising lipstick….the model had her fingers on the open lips…. I thought they would be a perfect addititon to the painting, but I needed to see them again, just to be sure…. I frantically dug through my recycling bin (luckily we are having a garbage strike and everthing is still here) and found the picture…..the fingers were just what I needed…it was apparent that the picture had been buried in my subconscious, just waiting to emerge in this painting….I made the modifications to the image and here it is Acrylic and watercolour on Fabriano Paper.. 613 views…33 Favouritings..
