Banksy – East London
About this Image: Taken on the concourse along the River Thames on an evening that was “wet” but clear. The shining walkway is illuminated by the streetlamps while the trees shine with the light of the blue “stars” in the branches. The three persons are out on a lovely eveing in London for a stroll. Camera exposure time allows them to keep moving as they are slightly “motion blurred” giving a sense of immediacy and movment in the image.
At the Cans Festival, organised by Banksy and POW over the May Bank Holiday weekend in London. A reference to the current situation with China and Tibet?
Original is on 36” x 24” Canvas (Best viewed large) And is for sale on my own Art Gallery Online

London city riot. I wanted to try and capture the frantic, claustrophobic feeling for all involved. Its simple, stark pen and ink sketched image. I didnt want it too polished as I hoped the roughness of it would help capture that violent feel

Bridge The legend of these Ravens in the Tower of London is so important to the people of England that ten ravens (6 on duty and 4 young spares) are actually employed by the Tower of London at the expense of the British government, in return for their service. It was said that Charles II ordered their removal following complaints from John Flamsteed, the Royal Astronomer However, they were not removed because Charles was then told of the legend that if the ravens ever leave the Tower of London, the White Tower, the monarchy, and the entire kingdom would fall (the London Stone has a similar legend). / Info Here
