I have produced hundreds of scribbles, sketches, drawings, cartoons and paintings over the years, yet when someone asks me how I come up with ideas for work I tell them I’m really not sure. A truly original idea for a piece of art is always a gift from somewhere else, and you just hope and pray it might happen again. I have thought about this subject a lot, about where inspiration or stream of consciousness comes from. The result was a large oil painting titled “Waiting for Inspiration”. It portrays a painter sitting on the floor of his studio adjacent to a large blank canvas propped up against the wall. A dirt road runs through the middle of the room, past the canvas and off into the distance. / The painter I guess is me, waiting to thumb that lift, to take that ride, to catch that inspiration.. before it passes through. / - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - - - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – /
Took this on Stockton Bight, a long series of sand dunes that stretch from Anna Bay to Newcastle. These traps were placed to protect Williamtown air base (I believe) during World War II. 26km or so of these, 2m high concrete reinforced pyramids, and now all you can find is this small group, situated in a sand blow. Even they come and go depending on the wind. We took a tour from Anna bay, to see the tank traps, tin city and the wreck of the Sygma(?) I think the tank traps were the highlight for me OTHER NEW ZEALAND / FROGS / LENSBABY / INFRARED / BEACH / SPAM / PANORAMAS / LANDSCAPES / INDUSTRIAL

Surrealistic Digital Art / / _“Let there be light” is an English translation of the Hebrew יְהִי אוֹר (yehiy ‘or). Other translations of the same phrase include the Latin phrase fiat lux, and the Greek phrase γενηθήτω φώς (or genēthētō phōs). The phrase is often used for its metaphorical meaning of dispelling ignorance. The phrase comes from the third verse of the book of Genesis in the King James Bible: 1:1 – In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. / 1:2 – And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. / 1:3 – And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. / 1:4 – And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness._ / / Pair with… / / / / / MCN: CCB37-A1E56-16AAA / / © Imber 2007. This was taken at a dam in Oakbank in the Adelaide Hills, Australia in winter at dawn. We don’t get any snow in Adelaide, as our summers are very hot. There is still some fog around on the water. This is pure bliss to me. This was taken with a Canon DSLR EOS 350D camera, on a tripod. This was taken because of the mood created with the fog, the winter sunlight lighting up the boat and the 3 waterfowl swimming in the opposite direction to the boat.

The Nothing That Is” is part of the Winter collection…this is a complicated thought…Winter is indeed something, as we know here in the North…most people would say that Winter is white, but in the city we have the reflections of all the colour in the buildings and lights that the snow reflects…but most of all the joys of winter, I think, should be portrayed in brilliant colour…the stark white of the birches pop against the blues and purples, and there is a little green and gold to remind us that the earth is still alive underneath. / In the face of all that winter is, Man himself becomes “Nothing” and “Beholds Nothing that is not there, and sees the Nothing that is”... Watercolour on Arches Paper… 769 Views...Featured Work…. One must have a mind of winter / To regard the frost and the boughs / Of the pine-trees crusted with snow / And have been cold a long time, / To behold the junipers shagged with ice, / The spruces rough in the distant glitter / Of the January sun; and not to think / Of any misery in the sound of the wind, / In the sound of a few leaves, / Which is the sound of the land / Full of the same wind / That is blowing in the same bare place. / For the listener, who listens in the snow, / And, nothing himself, beholds / Nothing that is not there and the nothing that is ..Wallace Stevens / /
