John Lennon Wall, Prague / After John Lennon’s assassination in 1980 mourners in (then) Czechoslovakia painted images of Lennon and words of love and condolence on a large inner-city wall in Prague. The communist authorities had the wall painted over. Undaunted, the fans put up new poems and art, and thus a tradition began. No longer painted over by authorities, the John Lennon wall is a massive artwork in progress, continually being painted over and over and densely layered with words of love and peace from individuals all over the world. Power to the people, right on! /

It is especially to remember my friend I walked with in both Shanghai and Hiroshima. She died tragically 2 years ago and it is that time of the year…............where my thoughts fly to her…..........and her family! The magic of photography is that images instantly bring you back to that precious moment in time! After a very long winter (so far) I needed something that sang Spring time is just around the corner! After a lot of fuss, and several hours, in Photoshop and Painter X this is the final result. Every pixel of this piece was re-painted (digitally) by hand. All of the apple blossoms and leaves were created from scratch. As a final touch I added some texture to the piece to give it that last little edge I was looking for.
