Captured using a Minolta 7000 with a 28 – 75mm using Fuji 35mm film. Southern Cross Station in Melbourne. This image was selected for exhibition at this years (May 2007) Churchie National Emerging Art Exhibition, affectionately known as the “Churchie”. / —-—-—-—-—-—-—-—- / This image will be on display and for sale at the Strathcona Art show 7th – 9th September 2007 at Tay Creggan in Hawthorn. / The image will be presented framed, matted & signed. Each square in the grid paper is 5×5mm; and to be exact, there were 2028 full squares in the paper When I was in grade 5 our teacher read “Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes” to our class. Sadako Sasaki was infected with leukemia. She spent her days folding cranes and making wishes upon them; wishing for her health and for a more peaceful world (the quote above is my writing inspired by the story of the thousand paper cranes). This concept was originally created in 2008, and photographed without a tripod. But now I have a tripod and decided to re-shoot this again and re-uploaded it on September 6, 2009. / / There’s an Elephant in my Garden / a drawing on catridge from my Art Diary / digitally coloured I hope that the grownups who look at this painting will remember something special from their childhood, some hopeful feeling, which will help them through today’s difficulties. There are all the colours of the rainbow in this piece, to remind us that there is always hope, no matter how hopeless it seems sometimes. The rainbow is a sign of hope. Children See/Children Do powerful message for grownups I hope that all the children who look at this painting will drift off into a faraway place in their imagination and feel wonderful for a while, especially if things are getting them down…and if life is wonderful, may this little picture add to the wonder and spark the imagination.
