Don’t put anything negative in it (people can see it!) This was painted from a sketch and photograph back home after returning while travelling on a healing journey from Qld to Alice Springs in 2002 Instead of going on a ‘proper;’holiday after a traumatic few years I decided I just had to see the Centre of our beautiful country …so …we just jumped into the car, 4×4 and slept in the back ,cooking with one frypan over a small gas fire rested on the tailboard ,most times I slept on the ground next to the car bcause i didn’t like being confined. Imagine being born again. Only this time your mother is the earth and you come fully equipped with memories, knowledge and a belief system. What raw emotions are evoked when the first thing you are confronted with is an environment completely foreign to what you were expecting? / Fear, confusion, doubt and loneliness. / Or because of the new environment one may lose their inhibitions, feel joy or perhaps discover inner strength and courage. Maybe the nine images are a true metaphorical reflection of the artists soul? / His background and love for the stage and theatre. / His longing to find true love and a wanting audience. / The ongoing battle of time and money between industry and creative / fulfilment. I came up with the idea…that tiny things are just as important as big things…. / a tiny heart gifts as much life as a huge heart / a tiny tree gives us air to breathe / a tiny star provides light to guide us….. It matters not that things are small, or have small beginnings, they are still worthwhile, as worthwhile as the big things, and as it says in the song / from little things big things grow / /

This is a piece that I did for the / THE DIVINE FEMININE / Warriors, Demons, and Whores Challenge. She is – Morgan (Morrigan): Celtic; Goddess of War and Magic. In some ancient stories “The Dark Green Goddess from the Emerald Isle” is mated with the Merlin, in others she is the Lady of the Lake, and in many versions she is the sister of Arthur. Morgan has her good side but is mostly known for her deep dark shadow side. She was said to be a shape-changer who could turn from ravishing beauty to hag, to crow. She reportedly also knew how to utilize the full spectrum of Earths Energy for good or bad. I was inspired by the artwork here on RedBubble of: AlexandraG, AmandaGWright, artistmind, Reynaldo and more to be loose and expressive with my line work and color. With this piece I think that I made that next step. 10×8 IN. Ink, Pencil, and Chalk Pastel on Watercolor paper.
