*My work was featured in the group Video Montage / ( Thanks Muscular Teeth and Butchart ) Excerpt from “Abigail’s Friends” written by Anthony Hedger illustrated by Carrie Glenn. ...“I think we better go back now.” She whispered to the butterfly. / “Why?” The butterfly asked. “It’s only my friends and they are having a special tea party just for you, come on and I’ll introduce you to them.” / “Er, ok, if you think I’ll be alright?” / “Of course you’ll be alright.” The red fox called to her. “Come on your tea is getting cold.” / So for the next two hours Abigail sat with Mr. Fox, Mr. Bear, Miss Rabbit, Ms. Blue bird and a hundred different butterflies and had tea and cake and chatted as though she had known them all her life. She gave each of them a big, big hug after and thanked them for making this the best birthday ever. / “Er, just before I do go home, how did you know it was my birthday anyway?” / “You could say a little bird told us.” The bear said gently and they all began to laugh…read more / CarrieGlennStudios.Com / My Zazzle Gallery

The Optimize Your Profile Page for Sales a…
The Optimize Your Profile Page for Sales article proved that customization is a popular topic. Today, let’s apply customization and optimization hints to the “show work” (your art and t-shirt) pages. First, let’s look at what a show work page should do. show work page example 1. Honor the art by displaying it in a clean, gallery-style environment 2. Enable the viewer to see the work at a distance and close up 3. Allow the visitor to learn about the work/have enough information to envision the art print or t-shirt in their space or on their body 4. Share the work with friends, family, others via email 5. Inspire/start the order process And for websites like RedBubble: allow the visitor to find other art and design that interests them; a next step rather than prompting an exit. Other ideas are welcomed. Simply list them below in the comments area. RedBubble addresses numbers 1, 2, 3 and 5. You can benefit greatly by sharing information about your work – #4. This helps you on two levels: 1. Relationships sell art – even a newly formed understanding about an artwork or design. 2. Search engines love to be right. Their job is to match a query (search) to a result (content), so any relevant information that you can supply on the show work page can help search engines find your page(s). E.g., if your browser title says that the image is of St. Kilda, and the title of the work is St. Kilda, and your show work page description is about St. Kilda, and the tags include St. Kilda … well, you have a pretty good shot at ranking in web search for St. Kilda. You could do even better by noting the medium (canvas, print, t-shirt) if possible. Here are a few “extras” that can help you merchandise your show work pages. Remember that you’ll need to use RedBubble formatting to make many of these items appear. You can show a detail of the artwork or t-shirt design. / Matt Simner placed a detail of his t-shirt design next to a full view of the design here. You’ll want to save the image for Web (making it lighter weight) with a width of no more than 335 pixels wide. How to? You can upload the detail image via MyBubble and choose not to publish it. After the image is uploaded, right-click (option+click on the Mac) and “copy the image location.” Paste the image location into the product description using the “!” mark at the beginning and end of the URL. See the RedBubble formatting cheatsheet here. Small images of the finished product. / We noted in the previous Selling article that examples of the real product help shoppers envision it in their places and spaces. Luxquarta also noted on their show work page that the image would look great as a “Laminated print, Mounted print or Canvas print.” And another example of the product in real life. Like this? You might also like … / RedBubble members can show small thumbnails of similar products on show work pages. Yanmos does this very thing here. The design for sale is also available as a free iPhone wallpaper too. With enough views of the iPhone image the shopper might just buy the shirt! You can also use the search category trick that we discussed in the previous post to provide visitors with category links that show a broader assortment of similar work. Small touches make visitors feel at home / It’s always the “little things” that make the difference – like RedBubble packaging, t-shirt inserts, swing tags, etc. Along these lines, Definatalie extends her design aesthetic to hand drawn headers and other visual touches that relate her Profile page to her show work pages. Added protection / Some members opt to manually place a copyright on their show work pages. While RedBubble adds a copyright to all pages, you can add a line reminding visitors about copyright. Rupydetequila added a softly-worded note, while boilerplate copy is available via Creative Commons or other reference websites., e.g., “This work is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-No Derivative Works 2.5 Australia.” or “All rights reserved. Copyright Rupydetequila. Please do not use my images without permission. Feel free to convo me with any questions about this item. Thanks for checking out my work With love Rupydetequila.” Building your audience / RedBubble allows visitors to email a link to their friends. You can go a step further by asking visitors to: Subscribe to your newsletter Follow you on Twitter Become a Fan of your Facebook business page Matt Simner does this in his Stay in Touch section on each show work page. Building your network / We’ve all been beat over the head about Facebook and Twitter, so let’s just say that your profile and show work pages can include links to your Twitter profile page and Facebook Pages (fan pages or your personal profile). Go forth and personalize / I should reiterate that the goal is to show the work in the best light possible whilst not burdening the page load time with tons of heavy images. There are many other customizations that members have made to their show work pages. Feel free to share links to your ideas and pages below. Also, if you’re interested in helping all RedBubble members sell their work, hop on over to the Sell Art and T-shirts group here. Regards, / Jason

/ / “Beach Picnic” is a pencil drawing which I’ve coloured digitally, I hope you like this image with mother and daughter in similar sundresses. As a child we enjoyed beach picnics all the time, mum would make us special fried chicken (better than Kentucky Fried) and we would go out on the boat to a little island, where i would play with soldier crabs for hours on end, while dad fished and mum sunbaked… they were wonderful times. We also went on the annual Beach Picnic to Bonny Hills with the church and we were great friends with the priest back in those days who was a top water skier.. We would see so many things at Bonny Hills, sea snakes slithered past in the creek where we were swimming and there were amazing white clay deposits in the sand….hours of fun were had by all… not to mention we even had a little mass there… top fun :)
/ Half coloured, thank you to gottheshot friend and fellow bubbler for the idea! / I have also a softer pink version, I would really appreciate some feedback as to which version you like the best, thank you :) / / / Original drawing, please note the actual rainbow that appeared on the drawing from light coming in through the trees outside the window of my studio, hence her name…. Bramble Rainbowtree…. she throws her arms skyward reaching to the heavens above… spots, stripes, flowers and streamers are added to convey the celebration and joyfulness in her spontaneous gesture…. ...Little Bramble Rainbowtree began as a little pencil drawing inspired by my beautiful niece Maya, who has the longest hair ever! This so reminds me of her, except that Maya’s hair is much more beautiful and much darker in colour. ...I have coloured Bramble Rainbowtree digitally, I hope you like this special fairy :) ...a great little vintage design for big and little girls, friends, birthdays, gifts, bedroom decor, nursery walls, etc.

/ This is a pencil drawing, that I’ve coloured in digitally, I also have a little golden chinese chop for my signature which was created for me a few months ago by Keith Richardson / hope you like “January” a little bit of a vintage or 70’s feel, revisiting the past, downloading a little bit of summer … now listening to “Pilot” singing January and Magic one of my fave band from the seventies, yeah, right along with the Bay City Rollers n stuff like that…hopeless huh :) so while I’m at it…. Bay City Rollers (I only want to be with you)
BEST VIEWED LARGE / \ / My last upload for a little while, here she is the Music Box Dancer from a drawing, digitally coloured. The words in the background are my own handwriting as I wanted the emphasis to be on sending out postive message for little girls and big girls: shine SHINE Shine, be giving, LOVE yourself, love OTHERS, dance your way through LIFE, you are beautiful, be joyous, you are LOVED, sing your SONG, your heart is free, be glad, trust, HOPE, live, LOVE, BELIEVE, shine your light the message is twofold….for little girls, very simply it’s sending a clear message of positive reinforcement, were it to be something they have in their room or receive for a birthday, i just wanted to give them a boost and a reminder to love themselves and live life to the full. To go with that line of thinking I’ve included the beautiful Music Box Dancer video on youtube by The Wiggles with a video of a little girl, a bit like this one, dancing….and The Wiggles, Dorothy the Dinosaur, and Captain Feathersword are all there too for your viewing and listening pleasure. do you remember the music box dancer in your music box…? you would open up the box, and there she was, she would pop up as you lifted the lid…in her little tutu, pirouetting round and round to the sound of the ‘music box dancer’ or some other pretty tune, she kept guard over all your hidden treasures in the jewellery box, I’ve tried to recreate the look and feel of that little icon here with her white tulle tutu skirt beneath, princess-style sleeves and golden hand-beaded bodice and pretty golden string of pearls she is both young and innocent, wide eyed…but also older and wiser, so that I hope she would appeal to girls of every age and in every stage of life the other side of the coin, I want to encourage grown up girls who have struggled and find life hard going at times, as a reminder that they are beautiful, that one can develop and nurture resilience and strength through everyday focus and meditation on positive messages and looking for the good in life…even if it’s only miniscule, it can grow… and to go with that line of thought, i have included a link to Missy Higgins song, which I love so much called Sugar Cane which is about the baby ballerina that lives inside us the year was 1972 and just for fun here’s a pic of me when i was 7 and just tiny tot at ballet (i’d been going since I was 4 years old..our first review I was in “The Fairy Around the Christmas tree and we wore a white singlet with little white scarves all sewn into it to make the skirt and of course a little halo of silver tinsel about the head lol) we looked like baby elephants, so ungraceful, but all the mums and dads and we ourselves thought we were very wonderful! which one am I? ... the littlest one on the far right at the back…that’s me….one of the other girls is my best friend (from childhood) we’ve lost touch now…i won’t give her name, but she was/played Amy the Bear in Bananas in Pyjamas for a few years.. she and her sister were magic dancers and always got the lead roles, i was forever in obscurity, in their shadow….and even here…although the smallest of the lot…there i be, right in the back…where I’m most comfortable :) and one more for the road…can you believe this is me!! lol ..and i must mention that my mum painted the pegboard behind me there, and we’d hang our toys from it to tidy up…using golf tees in the holes as pegs…so innovative and clever she is…full of ‘making do with whatever we had’ kind of ideas… /
