Taken outside Museum of Modern Art, New York City. I felt this captured the essence of the frustration of people using cellphones, everywhere, all the time. This photo has won a number of awards both locally and nationally in New Zealand. Featured: “Canon DSLR Group” Canon 20D Views: 1976 / Favs: 78
Main Street, Wilcannia I’ve sold a copy of this twice, at exhibitions at the Brisbane Institute of Art. Once A3 on metallic, and once A4 on heavy hahnemuhle paper A rework of The Last to Leave in an attempt to make it more like Paul Vanzella’s version – at the request of Wicca Davidson. Narrative / http://www.redbubble.com/people/edwardfish/journal/1046376-an-audience-with-the-hapless-narrative The Making of / http://www.redbubble.com/people/edwardfish/journal/1046719-the-making-of-an-audience-with-the-hapless Extract / By now, still unable to contain his amusement the dog was rolling about the room as his master swatted and flapped with one hand whilst pulling bird after manic bird from his throat with the other. And then with a thud to the back of my head came blackness. / Waking to find myself face down on the floor, I could hear the grating wheeze of the dogs laughter and the tinkling of broken glass falling from my back as I rose to my knees. I rubbed a tender spot at the base of my skull, and then my eyes. / Through a haze of dust and feathers the scene before me gradually came into focus. The frenzied attack on my host continued, and it was clear that despite his bravery, his efforts to fend of the relentless beasts had become futile. / However, at the very same moment his eyes had suggested a man resigned to his fate, with a swipe of his glove he was able to buy himself enough time to reach into his overcoat and pull out a large shiny object which he tossed into the air. / The object – a medal of the grandest order- fell at the feet of the sniggering hound. The dog looked down at the prize and breathed out a deep sigh of smug satisfaction. “Well…” gurgled his battle worn master, by now at the limits of his patience: / “DON’T JUST STAND THERE LIKE AN OVER GROWN FRICKIN GOOFBALL…D-O-O-O SOMETHING!!!!!”

This is my tribute to Muntazer al-Zaidi. The legendary journalist who threw his shoe at George W Bush during his farewell visit to Iraq. Clearly it is based on Banksy’s “Flower Chucker” stencil which is based on a photo from the 1968 riots in Paris. I’ve tried to keep it faithful to both Banksy and Muntazer by illustrating his head as close as possible to the original press conference image, in the style of “Flower Thrower”. I also illustrated the shoe to fit his hand just nicely and added a bit of definition to the fingers. Love to know what you think. Good riddance George Dubbaya. Muntazer al-Zaid may be the thrower, but you certainly are the tosser. / / / / / / /

...feeling a bit nostalgic today so I thought I’d share this snippet of days gone by with youDays go by ..”His Master’s Voice” is a famous trademark in the music business, and for many years was the name of a large record label. The name was coined in 1899 as the title of a painting of the dog Nipper listening to a wind-up gramophone. .inspired by the Artist Francis Barraud(he did the original painting)of Nipper’ a first experimental digital creation using a photo I took of my ol’ grammy….a photo of Nipper layered them onto a gold gradient background added the notes/text/put it thru’ Redfield fractallius/organic edges to give it the distressed look/cloned/coloured/contrast tweaked etc; .featured in ‘Art in math’ ...
