This one, painted some time early last year (2007) was inspired by my wife. She suggested that a poem she likes, by William Henry Davies, would be a good subject for a painting. The extract of the poem on the painting it’s self reads… “What is life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare … / No time to stand beneath the boughs, and stare as long as sheep or cows. / No time to see, when woods we pass, where squirrels hide their nuts in grass. / A poor life this, if full of care, we have no time to stand and stare.”

Thanks so much to Tony for the inspiration! Although I am posting this, I am not finished my friend ! 20 + layers and counting, but the story will go on!!!!! Im tired for now though! Dover Castle in the evening sun. / Created in Photoshop using an HDR photo of the castle (+/- 3EV) / and adding the skys. The whole image was overlaid with textures to give the ‘Old Masterly” look.

This is a composite of two images taken in the same location on Po’olenalena Beach Maui Hawai’i at sunset. Post processing includes a light selective colour saturation, slight contrast adjustment, then I selected the ocean and applied a horizontal Radial Blur. I then selected the sky and applied a Radial Blur with the following settings: Blur Type: Twirl / Strength: 24% / Twirl Degrees: 1 / Elliptical / Centre Horizontal Offset: 4% / Vertical Offset: 1% / Protect Centre: 14% I then merged the image layers and flattened them. / This is the image I created as the basis for the feature banner for the group Impressionist Art Copyright © Sharon Mau 2009 / My images do not belong to the public domain.
