  • ... This beautiful poem written for this work by sweet Sally Omar by Sally Omar / i heard of a man named Jesus / who walked in the Jerusalem streets / He was a simple man / no shoes upon His feet / He spoke of love / and forgiveness of sin / and people listened carefully / so many followed him / a man of humanity / knowing how to live / filled with benevolence / teaching others to give / he never carried a weapon / or spoke mean uncaring words / only love came from him / words of a beautiful heart were heard / but there were those who worried / that his love would be contagious / captured him…scourged him / acts so outrageous / he was scorned by men / with hateful souls / hung upon a cross .. will never be forgotten / his story many times retold / JESUS…...And it was the third hour, and they crucified him…Mark 15.. • Yesterday was, quite simply, a rotten day in many ways, however I did have a very short time with the lovely Arnavaz, who came to my studio to be photographed by a couple of friends. They were still at it by the time I arrived home from work, so I grabbed the first camera that I could find quickly, and started shooting. Turns out it was the Canon 5D, and the lens on it was the Lensbaby composer at f/4. This was my first go with the lens, apart from a couple of shots in class, and I’m VERY impressed!!! • This photo has not been cross-processed properly, apparently. However, I’d never heard of cross-processing until recently. I’ve read that the term started by developing color print or slide film in the wrong chemicals – for example, color negative film in slide chemicals or slide film by the color negative process. This causes wild color and contrast shifts and requires lots of trial and error. for more, see Dana DiPasquale’s forum page. Apparently a group exists for cross-processing experts, as well. / / However, playing with the RGB channels certainly stretched my tendency for more realistic, staid photos! I played with this photo last night using Sue Wickham’s method and the tutorial that Mary Campbell posted. I used curves and RGB channels in Photoshop and Nikon’s Capture NX2.1 software. / / This is the Capture NX2 version, with a bit of a vignette blur from efex. Original: Nikon D200, Nikkor 70-300mm, 145mm, f/5.6, 1/1000sec, -0.3ev., ISO 200, manual exposure, / Converted from 12-bit RAW to jpeg. Manfrotto tripod. / 2025×3037px

  • Cross processed dicky – ver 2….. Just trying to prepare some images for competitions….what does everyone think of this colouring, too much? Canon 5D, 16-35mm at 21mm, f/16, 1.3” Another from the SS Dicky Series / And here’s the image in black and white! I used this to add the contrast by adding it as a layer and changing the blending mode to luminosity, then dropping the opacity to 50something% Seascapes / New Zealand / Frogs / Lensbaby / Infrared / Industrial / Spam / Panorama / Landscapes / Real Estate Series / People
