Another in a series of digital works based on multiple abstract shots taken of old farm equipment with my Nikon D80. Layers are added one at a time and blended using multiply, overlay, exclusion, or other options.I keep adding more pictures until it looks right. After flattening the layers, I sometimes copy and replicate a section in another place, then blend it, too in the most effective way. It is all done in my usual seat-of-the-pants experimental style. /

The old core of the village occupies a rocky peninsula. High up on the headland, surrounded on three sides by water, stands the Late Gothic parish church, a prominent landmark; note the fine Baroque interior, the Romanesque crypt and the 15th-16th C. high altar with a beautiful Late Gothic figure of the Virgin. In the churchyard there is a round charnel house of 1278. Close by stands the little 12th C. Rosenkranzkirche (Rosary Church) or Winter Church, with well preserved Romanesque frescos of the Apostles. The picturesque village of Maria Worth is situated on the south shore of Lake Wörthersee and is one of the most charming scenic pearls of Carinthian beauty

An abandoned pleasure craft up on blocks at St Marks, Florida … hunting around underneath the hull I found some wonderful art work. I see waves rolling in one behind the other, with the dawn sun catching the one about to break on the shore. Kids attending a summer camp at the Mary Brogan Museum of Art and Science in Tallahassee got to work on the paved area outside the museum with some colored chalks. I wandered by after they had left for the day and thought this made a wonderful picture – kids have such a natural sense of color it seems.
