Arrested Expansion is a symbolic scene that depicts a combination of self-excluding objects that might not be present in real life. Objects in the secluded room make the viewer feel claustrophobic and unreal, which might be compared to someone’s mental delusion based on a medical condition. Image is a mixture of photo stock with some 2D vectors, and 3D objects. Photoshop, 3ds max, Illustrator. / The most common cause of cardiac arrest is a heart rhythm disorder or arrhythmia called ventricular fibrillation (VF). The heart has a built-in electrical system. When a contraction happens, blood is pumped. But in ventricular fibrillation, the electrical signals that control the pumping of the heart suddenly become rapid and chaotic. As a result, the lower chambers of the heart, the ventricles, begin to quiver (fibrillate) instead of contract, and they can no longer pump blood from the heart to the rest of the body. If blood cannot flow to the brain, it becomes starved of oxygen, and the person loses consciousness in seconds. During a relatively peaceful 2002 protest against the World Bank in Washington, D.C., anti-war demonstrators began to change the situational climate of the march. Tensions between protesters and police, who were expecting a violent demonstration, began to rise. Police began to arrest everyone that they managed to surround inside Pershing Park, guilty, as well as innocent bystanders alike. In relative anticipation of the police’s reaction, this young man wrote the telephone numbers of civil defense lawyers on his arms before the demonstrations even began.

whats funny to me about this photo is that I had a fairly decent camera, canon something, roughly 300 dollars US, had it three years and never used it. Bob was the first thing I decided to shoot (this was 2002). I had no idea what I was doing, I couldn’t focus well, I didn’t know what apature was, and yet, this is one of my favorite photos Ive ever taken. / I had a great deal more photographs of this set-up, but they were developed and the negatives have been gone for years, and the proofs themselves, they probably disappeared around the few years where I had 4-5 roommates at a time. I’m glad he didn’t pose for me while we did this, I think it wouldn’t have turned out as well if he did.

The shot is a bit too blurry for my liking, but it gives a sense of the tension that was felt that day. Shot on bulk rolled Ilford 100 with Nikon N90s

This is my garage sale rescued 12 year old Manx, Pebbles caught in the act of removing my t-shirts from the dresser drawer. She is still a kitten at heart and about the size of one. She was rescued by myself and my daughter from a garage sale in Winnipeg, Manitoba, tied to a tree with a piece of string, and a FREE sign near her. Best garage sale buy I ever got! By the way, she and Burton, my other tabby are constantly causing me to replace my t-shirts back into the drawer. They do this about once a week usually unseen. This time she got caught!

The aim of every artist is to arrest motion, which is life, by artificial means and hold it fixed so that a hundred years later, when a stranger looks at it, it moves again since it is life. / ~William Faulkner

Hand drawn, Prisma colored pencils. The Orchestra is in trouble, someone is playing off key, & know one knows who it is, & the show is about to begin in a few days. One unlucky Bug is thought to be the culprit & he’s whisked away

The neighbourhood didn’t seem to much notice the gathering storm but we heard it when the battering ram was used to smash in the apartment door after shouts to surrender went unheeded. A few shouts and some running towards the building (the one under the construction tape) was the only very hurried part of what had to be a major operation. At this point, there was still nothing to see. By the way, I used the telephoto to catch all the shots because I wasn’t quite as dumb as the two girls standing close and looking like they’d never watched TV before… (Stay tuned. More to come!)
“And love / It’s not the easy thing / The only baggage / That you can bring / Not the easy thing / The only baggage you can bring / Is all that you can’t leave behind” U2 Walk On, was written about and dedicated to Aung San Suu Kyi. It is written in the form of a supporting, uplifting anthem, praising her for her activism and fighting for freedom in Burma. She has been intermittently under house arrest since 1989 for her efforts. Due to the political tribute of this album, those in Burma caught with possession of either the single for this song or the album All That You Can’t Leave Behind could face a prison sentence lasting between three and twenty years. Burma’s opposition leader Aung San Suu Kyi has gone to trial at the notorious Insein prison in Rangoon. She is charged with breaching the terms of her house arrest, because of a visit by an American man who swam across a lake to her house earlier this month.
