In a neighbouring town, a group of committed gardeners have created a new and lovely park filled with beautiful bulb plants, perennials, flowering shrubs and all on the grounds of an old seed supply company. Although the park is small, there is a surprising selection of plants to look at. The display of allium last summer was especially attractive and while they obviously make wonderful colour photographs, I chose black and white to emphasize their ‘architecture’.
Beautiful to walk through on an evening when the sun is just setting … and for anytime of the day for that matter.

A view illuminated by a near full moon looking down specialized train tracks that are used for positioning the 27 independent radio antennae into position at the Very Large Array near Socorro, New Mexico. This is where the movie Contact was based. This is also really a fantastic place to visit.
I was so happy with this photograph because all the Antelope were looking straight toward the camera (except for the calf… in a profile shot). These Antelope were transferred from Dubbo to Halls Gap in October 2008. Blackbuck Indian Antelopes: These originate from the open woodlands and grasslands of India and Pakistan. They were once the most common hoofed mammal in that area but are now considered to be near threatened as a result of hunting both for sport (trophies) and for meat, loss of habitat to farmland and other human activity.
