    by Claire Armistead

    US$5.32–US$121.60

Homepage artwork for November 2007 After seeing Devan Foster’s “Juxtaposed image”, i thought i’d share my “A day in the life of…” with you. / Basically, i wanted to see if i could commit to capturing a whole year of my life by taking a picture daily. / It started as a fun challenge with a friend but has turned into something more about acceptance now. Acceptance of all the flaws and appreciating the differences. / I reached my 365 shot on the 19.10.07. / The series marks such a big year in my life; including emigrating to another country, falling in love and the death of my grandpa. I now view it as a baseline in my life. A time when future events (marriage, birth of children and death) can always be related back to this year and every day it contains. / Hope you enjoy x

  • The beauty of Banff
    by Claire Armistead

    US$4.99–US$114.00

Banff National Park is Canada’s oldest national park, established in 1885, in the Canadian Rockies. / The park is located in the province of Alberta and encompasses 6,641 square kilometres of mountainous terrain, numerous glaciers and ice fields. / The landscape is vast and hard to describe in a few words but “breathe taking” would sum it up quite well! / This image was taken whilst driving through the nearly deserted mountainous passes and always reminds me of what it was like to see each peak for the first time; turning every bend in the road and just being speechless. / You get completely immersed in the history of the area and can’t help but think about all the pioneers who carved the way before you. It is a humbling experience to be there and makes you so thankful you have had a chance to see it. Nb: Just to clarify, i wasn’t driving when i took this image…. Paul was!!!! I was trying to grab a shot whilst his hands where firmly on the steering wheel. Safety first people! HAHA! Canon XTI rebel, 10 – 20mm lens @ 11mm, 1/40 sec, F/11, Grad filter. Processing in CS3

Faced with the 1.1.1 Challenge set by Claire to capture the year 2008 in photographs, taking a single photo, everyday for the next year, I couldn’t think of a better time to start than at 3am on 1st January 2008, shortly after returning from a good night out celebrating the arrival of the new year… well a bottle of red definately helped with that decision! / You’ll be pleased to know that I wont be uploading my pictures everyday (unless I get a corker) but I just wanted to add this one to highlight the challenge to anyone else who may be up for it… it’s not too late to start! / Anyway, this picture is in a style I have emerged from the year 2007 using in a lot of my work.. who knows if my picture on 31st December, 2008 will be looking like this, or in a completely different style altogether.
